Yeah if it was a SHORT trip, i don’t mind it if its going to somewhere close by. If i were going to take a LONG trip, like to Hong Kong or something, i’m not just gonna spend a few days…8U make it a month or so and then maybe its worth it. XD;;

Besides, i’m not made for the tropics lol. I melt in extreme heat. XD;; i remember, when i was younger, i used to go to HK more often because it was probably cheaper back then. And we’d ALWAYS go back in the summer…QnQ i couldn’t stand the heat, i just wanted to stay indoors….

What's winter like in HK anyhow?

cooler than summer lol. xD that's all i can really say, since i've only been to HK once, during december. i usually went in the summer (since it was summer vacation) and it would be scorching hot. in december, its only slightly cooler but the temperatures still fluctuate between hot and slightly hot. XD;; i got sick that one time i went in december. so did my sister. XD

So it really is a pretty stable temperature all year, with only a little variation, huh...
Sorry you got sick though, that's such a waste of a trip! Maybe someday you can go again in the winter and take a long enough time to properly explore when it's not so hot you melt and can't get the energy to poke around...

I'm old enough to remember when the markets all went crazy as Hong Kong reverted back after the lease to the British ran out... that was surprisingly intense, for something that everyone knew was going to happen.
How was it a surprise, the agreement had been around for literally a century! But the market still went bananas as though it were completely unexpected.
I guess that's just how humans work, though.

stable if you like HEAT. although i suppose there are some areas that might actually be colder than where i was.......8U i know some places in china get snow? so, yeah, i dunno, i'm not a very good person to ask about weather in HK lol, i don't frequently go there enough. xD

and the only reason i went back to HK in december that one time was to accompany my mom and my sister to see our grandmother (my mom's mom), as she was on her deathbed.....8U not exactly a pleasure trip.....^^;; although, we did end up going to Disney HK...xD;;

@Li li: I've never thought about it that way before! It is a freeing way of looking at it XD I'll have to remember that the next time I travel, and hoooopefully try to be more social with locals? :D

@Hot: Extreme heat is terrible D: Last year there was a heat wave here in BC and the weather got to 40 degrees... We melted...

Hmm, I just got home -it was a 14 hour workday today, all told, and yes I was chatting with you guys at work earlier, but that's what breaks are FOR-
and I was a little too tired to make a proper last meal.
So I grabbed a packet of snacks from my cupboard.
These are old.
They were from the home of an Elder who sold their old house about six years ago now... and they've just been sitting in my pantry the whole time, because:
1) Don't Waste Food has been ingrained in me since I was a child,
and
2) I'm not really much of a one for prepackaged foods...
So they're old.

They're something called "fig bars".

I don't... think... they were originally intended to be alcoholic.
But the fruit in them is definitely tasting alcoholic.

I'm eating them anyhow because I'm still too tired to go make a proper meal, and I'm fairly sure it's not enough to get drunk off?
I don't even care.
Big family luncheon tomorrow and I took time off work so I don't have to get up super early so I'm just going to live with it.

But yeah.
I might have to try and find some fig wine though, because they really aren't bad.

Oh noooo Li li that sounds like a super rough day D:
(And that fig bar sounds super questionable... Can you make yourself some hot soup or tea? That can be soothing, and good for your stomach)

Oh, it's fine, it wasn't a *bad* day, just long.
And I'm not really emotionally tired just sore-achey-muscles-been-awake-too-long tired.
And I don't USUALLY have too many days like this, so honestly a single good night's rest will get me over it.
Witness that I'm even still bothering to come here -but this is easy, I don't have to really move at all to get online on my laptop, and it'll help settle me before bed anyhow. Making a proper meal would mean staying up another half hour to an hour and then cleaning up the dishes after and I'd rather just munch on a snack and sleep -I had some good meals earlier and I'll have a good meal tomorrow so it'll be fine!

And I really do want to try fig wine now. I wonder where I could find some? Maybe I'll just see how many figs we get this year and hand them to my brother and challenge him to make it? He's not bad at home brewing... A simple cordial-style potable shouldn't be impossible...

I've never heard of fig wine :O It sounds delicious though, I love fresh and dried figs You'll have to let us know if you do end up getting/making the wine!
