I'll be spending the twenty-fourth with my boyfriend's family and the rest with him alone. But we'll also have our own tree again, I love Christmas trees!

We only put ours up directly before Christmas. We haven't even bought the tree yet... Since when do you have yours?

Well in my country (Argentina) we tradicionally put ours on the 8th (it is the Virgin's day) or some people put it on December 1st it depends on how Christian you are :D or how much you care about traditions, thing is we do not use real trees here like they do in America.

Ah, okay, that makes sense :)
We're using real trees (Germany here) and if you put them up too early the needles will fall off, so it's traditionally put up directly on the twenty-fourth or shortly before. You have to buy it earlier if you want a pretty one though, but it still stays longer if you keep it outside in the cold until Christmas. I love the smell of the tree, so I always want a real one, even though artificial ones are becoming more popular here lately.

I don't think we'll have a tree this year. :( We haven't in many years. At least my cousins will have one when we visit them. :D

(It was fun reading about the different customs in different countries! :D)

@Saloiq Thank you really? awww well actually that particular adorment is GERMAN! I just bought it this year <3 and yeah it is knitted :)
May I ask why not having a tree? you dont like them not even a small one?

Right now I'd welcome hot :D lying in bed sick isn't so much fun... And I feel cold despite the blanket :(
But in general I agree, it's great to have a chance at a white Christmas :) (although most years we aren't that lucky...)
But I remember one Christmas during my childhood when it snowed heavily and the streets were covered in ice. Everything was so beautiful and silent, except for the church bell, as we struggled to not slip while walking there... This might sound weird, but I loved it :)

Why don't you have your own, not enough room? This is always a bit difficult for us, too. Back home we used to have to move a really big old cupboard to another room to get the tree in the living room every year :D

It's partly we don't have enough room and partly our family has stopped following Christmas tradition. The kids are growing up and all that. xD

I have a lot of good memories about lying underneath the tree, but I wouldn't fit under one anymore. v_v
