Yes! We were really close to the path of totality so from here it looked like the full eclipse. The street lights came on and the birds got quiet. Then the crickets and cicadas started up. It was so dark that we could see stars and we saw Venus, too. Pretty much the whole building was out watching. Some of them were even on the roof including the Director and my boss! It was awesome!!

Heyo everyone! Thought I should start being a little more chatty since I'm finally back after a long hiatus! :mctongue: Hope you don't mind me taking a seat in your comfy cottage! :)

I missed out on the eclipse since it was raining and cloudy all morning where I lived. :mcangry: My family and I got up early to go to the planetarium to buy eclipse glasses, and man everyone else had the same idea as us since we waited an hour in line...but in the end it was too rainy (and anyway we're not that close to the path of totality so like the most we would have seen was 72% or so) so everyone just went inside and watched the livestream of the view from Oregon. XD It did look pretty cool though, and man luv I can only imagine what it was like having the street lights and crickets come to life! :o

Good morning, Vivacity!! It really was pretty awesome! I guess a lot of people who went even further north around here had the same problem you did. It was so overcast that they couldn't see anything. We got super lucky here and had a window of clearing right when the eclipse started. It clouded over again just after it finished up, too.

Good afternoon luv! ^^

Wow what a stroke of luck! We were hoping that would happen here too but nope. :mcheh:

What else have you been up to? :) I'm just graduated uni this past June so I'm just trying to figure out what to do with my life. :mcheh:

Basically I just try to get through the work week without any major problems. Unfortunately the next three weeks are not going to be easy here at work. We're going to be short a person so it will be a scramble to keep everything done and caught up.

Congrats on your graduation! Good luck on figuring out what you want to do in life. I still haven't got it figured out.

Oh no! It's always hard when you're short staff. :( What do you do at work?

And thank you! I'm leaning towards becoming a web designer, but I still have to figure out what I can do while I learn how to do that. XD

I work for a public library. My job is to ship the books we borrow from other libraries back to them.

Web design wasn't even an option when I was in college. The internet had really just started coming into use. I think that would be an interesting field, though. It's a fairly easy one to get into, too.

Yeah it's crazy how fast tech changes! Even though I'm pretty young I can already see how different growing up nowadays is when I compare my childhood to my little sister's...I can only imagine how strange it must be to witness the changes the internet's brought along.

Are there a lot of shipments at the library? Are your days pretty busy? I guess they will be like you said with the missing staff..

Any plans for the weekend though? :)

Aw you're so lucky! It was pretty cloudy here and you could only tell a slight change in lighting. :P Also I was also at work and my manager wasn't so interested.

Hiya Cat! At least you saw a slight change in lighting! Better than nothing I guess. XD

How have you been? :)
