"Fake dating" and then propinquity takes over, that's a classic!
Which can be a lot of fun. :)
I got hooked onto a total wish-fulfillment translation of a Korean webnovel (I think they put it out fast because now there's a manga or something), "I was Mistaken as a Monster Genius Actor".
Which is entirely brainless, but weirdly fun.
(I don't actually know much of anything about the entertainment industry so I suspect a lot of it is going over my head.)
There are times when I get really frustrated by the short-sightedness of the MC, though.
Spoiler
He gets a system that lets him instantly learn languages at a native level and gain crazy good abilities, and the doofus immediately gets distracted by Fame And Fortune and doesn't take advantage of it!
...but mostly I recognize it's supposed to be a story of Brainless Joe Schmo, the stereotypical Mr. Ordinary, who suddenly makes it big.
Which if you're busy chasing knowledge and skills instead of demonstrating them to the world, does make it hard to show off.
Which is apparently the ultimate goal in life?
Bit confusing, really, but whatever.
Anyhow, aside from the few moments when my brain briefly engages long enough to find that frustrating, it's a blast.
