I see what you mean, I guess there's still a big difference between some short texts and really meeting... But if you have three weeks, I'd say that is plenty of time to get back into a normal state, even if it is strange at first. Don't be too worried :)
May I ask what your age difference is?

Do you send out the items with a theme, or is it random wishlist/"I bet they'll like this!" stuff?
