Yes we have lots of those dresses, hats etc.
I´m not sure what´s haute couture means in that case, I mean I´m really not into fashion styles and so on, but would appreciate a Link to it, to get your point clearly.^^
Always thought it´s called Haute couture, because it´s so tight.

Haute couture means high fashion, it's used normally to mean things that they show on the catwalk but aren't really meant to be worn in real life. Like this outfit that Rihanna wore to the Met Gala :3 The idea is it can be as crazy and huge as you like because it's not for normal dress. Here's another example, they wrapped up the models in weird shapes and then unfolded them to reveal canvas paintings.

I guess few of them get bought. Mostly they end up going into art galleries and museums or gathering dust somewhere. It's more for the designer to show off what they can do and their creative ideas. Then they will make a ready to wear (RTW) collection which actually goes on sale.

I still can't imagine such crazy designs as KofK items though, my mind goes as far as feather dresses and tops XD Lol, I'm not being very creative here

It would have to be done very carefully I'm sure. Still, it's a jumping off point for inspiration ^^
