From the kids section at the library. I always used to call them kids books, but they write "JUV" (for juvenile) on the spine at the library, and in the reading challenge thread on Ernya, it was mostly me and a librarian, so she got me calling them JUV books! :mcheh:

ah I see. I thought it was sth with juvenile but had no idea what exactly it could be about. which is pretty dumb of me XD because every other genre has a YA, NA, adult prefix to them, and I could have just guessed

I read it because it's part of a series I'm reading (The Last Apprentice), but it had nothing to do with the series at all. It wasn't even about the same characters. It was its own little thing.

No clue! All of the other books have been very obviously related. This one should have just been its own thing!

Even with that quickie kids book, I'm still 4 books behind!

maybe the author thought a standalone won't sell as well as part of a series
