Kingdom of Knuffel

Julia looked over and listened as he spoke. She remembered that too, all those years ago. "You even remember the book I was reading?" She asked with a small smile, impressed he had actually remembered. She stopped him before the reached the stairs to go down to the great hall. She hugged him gently,"I never thought we would even be friends, let alone this." She admitted,"I figures you would hate my guts forever..."

"I-" Caelum blushed as he looked away, embarrassed that he remembered such tiny insignificant details. He was about to retort - say that it was something he thought she'd be reading - when Julia hugged him and silenced him completely with her words. He frowned when he heard that she thought he hated her and immediately held her head flush to his heart. "I never hated you, Julia. I just liked - no - I lived to antagonize you. You could say that it felt like tradition?" He sighed as he rested his chin on her head. "Imagine an eleven-year old Caelum finding out that the cute girl from the bookstore was a Potter. I immediately spelled your drink into carrot juice that day just to spite you for being a Potter." He chuckled to himself before he sighed again, winding his arms around her much tighter but loose enough so she could breathe. "Eleven-year old me was an idiot. Still am, but I've got you to beat the idiocy out of me now; so I've got that going for me, which is nice."

Julia giggled,"I did the same, remember? I believe it was a couple days later." She looked over at him,"You might be an idiot at times, but who isn't? Aren is a total fool around Amira. I noticed that and giggle at it quite often." She pushed his bangs out of his face,"I just hope we can get our parents to be friends again..."

Caelum sighed before giving the hug a reassuring squeeze and freeing her from his arms. "Christmas dinner now, parents later. We can plan our mother's meeting so nothing could go wrong. We have a few months before school lets us free for summer. I'm starting to feel a bit puckish anyways." He grinned before taking her hand and leading her into the Great Hall where everyone else was waiting. A few students eyed their hands warily while three others passed a few galleons under the table to a pair sitting opposite them and the faculty had a certain amused twinkle in their eyes, especially the Slytherin and Ravenclaw heads of houses.

"Ah, miss Potter, mister Malfoy. Come take a seat. We were just about to start the feast." The headmaster smiled at them.

Julia nodded at his words and walked with him into the great hall. As the headmaster spoke Julia nodded and quickly went to sit down so they could eat. She knew Caelum was hungry too and was looking forward to Christmas dinner.

The dinner passed by quickly with the only remarkable thing being that the food tasted even better than it usually was, and it was really good all year round. The headmaster soon told the students that he would move the curfew to midnight, a full two hours longer than the usual, and reminded them to be back in their dorms before the clock struck twelve and that the Forbidden Forest was still forbidden.

"I still have to write that letter for mum, but that could wait until a few minutes before midnight. What would you like to do before then this Christmas night?"

Julia looked over at him as he spoke,"Hmmm....good question..." she thought,"I had been thinking of going to the library for a little while to read, but I can do that anywhere really." She looked outside the windows of the great hall, thinking to herself, trying to think of something they could do. She looked over at him,"Do you have any ideas?" She asked him

"I don't really know." Caelum started, embarrassed. "I've only spent Christmas at home. My parents would hold a party until midnight and I'd either be entertaining guests or playing exploding snap in my room with Frank and Aren if the adults thought it better for their children to be someplace else while they were doing politics or something."

Julia smiled,"We could always just walk around school and chat." She said,"Unless theres something else you want to do. I cant think of much though too be honest. I usually spend Christmas with my family at Grandpa Weasley's house with the others."

Caelum started to walk out of the Great Hall with Julia and into the hallways. Maybe soon they would reach the moving stairs and head onto the other floors. "I didn't know you spent your Christmas with the Weasleys. That means you've been to The Burrow then? How was it there?" He asked, extremely curious. He'd only received vague descriptions of The Burrow and it always kept him wondering how and why the family would live in some sort of tree house complex.
