I had to think hard to understand that the kids you were talking about aren't your own XDDD
Did I miss somehow that you want to run a daycare?

Oh yeah, I've mentioned it a lot around the forums here so I can't always remember who knows, LoL
I went to college for Early Childhood Education and used to work in daycares and preschools. I just sent off my paperwork to renew my license to practice and I've always wanted to start my own daycare or preschool in my home. That's one of the main reasons we wanted to own our own home.

It's funny, I am also an introvert, but when I am with kids I find it easier to be myself - they are less judgmental, and don't have the same pre-conceived notions of people that teens and adults have. Honestly, I'd rather hang out with kids than adults because of that reason. Also, they are frequently extremely hilarious, and say the most amazing things. I like the age range of about 2.5 - 6 years old - that's the best time to teach them how to be really awesome human beings.

I feel like I have a hard time talking to people. I never know what to say.
I've been working on this.. with role-play.. role-play of what types of people I might encounter, and how I might look to the people of the group.
I have found that I need to battle people to get a word in.. Conversation is so brutal.. so I'm thinking of it as an RPG like FF9 where you have a gauge that has to fill up then you're ready to say something, and if you don't say something the chance might slip away.
I never thought conversations were so high-speed.. I always have preferred the slow-paced, thoughtful conversations.

I enjoy slower convos too, or just sitting silently with someone and not worrying about filling the space with words. Hard to find many people that fit that criteria though.

Hehe, that's fine, you can rant some other time :D Sharing some personal victories is also welcome, or anything positive :)
@Nikki: I think kids just scare me, because I feel like I can't tell them anything because they're not mine and like, their parents will probably yell at me or something. Plus kids can actually be very opinionated, getting that from their parents. And kids are so energetic it tires me.
Maybe I should never have my own kids, well XD
@Rune: I also find it's easier if the conversation is slower or if I know the other person will let me dwell on my answer for a bit. I like to think about what I want to say and how, that's why I prefer the forums and written communication over say phone calls. Ugh, I hate those.
I noticed recently that if I'm in a group of people and they start talking, I actually might have stuff to say, but for one, I'm not sure I want to share anything, for two, I think too much on how to start what I want to say and the moment is gone already. So I end up usually just listening and maybe grinning/laughing if the convo is funny. But I rarely ever speak up. Maybe in smaller group of my own peeps.
