My local bus transportation doesn’t seem that complicated lol.

Ours isn't complicated, it's dumb. It starts late, stops early, is always running behind, always breaking down... I can't tell you how many times I had to ride during Texas summer heat with no AC on the dang bus. Torture.

Yup, first... 4 years here? Thank God kind husband's boss sold us one of his unused family vehicles for $1, never went back!

((They worked for the university and you cannot accept gifts while you work there so he "sold" it to us ))

Yeah I dunno if it's a US thing but it's for tax and legal reasons. Gifting large property like cars is tricky, because you can say you gave it to someone and then they commit a crime and they say, "Where's the proof it's my car?" Etc.
