It's your grandmother's birthday and you've forgotten to buy her a card. You hop on down to the card shop and are shocked to find there are only two birthday cards left in the entire store.
One is wildly inappropriate, but funny and full of character...
...and the other is more subdued and respectful, but bland and unimaginative.
Which do you buy for her?

You are being paid an absurd amount of cash to house-sit a sprawling manor. Before he departs, the owner lays down a single rule. You are given free rein of the mansion, but you must not, under any circumstances, open the attic door. An odd regulation, but easy enough to follow.
The first night you begin to here odd noises above you, but don't give it much thought. The manor is old. It's bound to creak.
The second night there and definite bumps and thumps coming from the upper floors. It could still be the house settling.
The third night, the distinct sound of footsteps can be heard moving up and down the attic floor. You're a bit afraid now.
The fourth night comes and all is quiet. You wait anxiously just below the attic, when you hear a faint cry for help. It's coming from above! "Who's there?!" You shout. But the voice again only calls for help. Hoping to inject some logic into the situation, you try to get the mysterious voice to answer your questions, but all that is returned is the continued cries for assistance. Is there really someone up there? Are they in danger? ... But what of the owner's demand?
Do you open the door... or not?

Nope. If they don't answer, then I'd assume it's unintelligent, and it's a recurring paranormal event that's been imprinted in the attic.
