Coincidentally, having been a "Yankee" my whole life, I don't consider it an insult, and in fact have had my view of the south kind of shaped into a low intelligence, horribly intolerant area. I mean, I know in my conscious brain that it's simply a terribly biased stereotype, but in the lower, more instinctual portion of my brain, it's the first thing I imagine when I picture "The South". I can only imagine there's some sort of equally offensive idea Southerners have of Northerners.
And you have Anime North in Toronto, crim. That's supposedly pretty good.
Also, you have to take SATs for out of state Universities, and ACTs for in state...at least here. If you go to a community college first, you don't need either and can then transfer to a University. And it requires an even lower GPA.

I've turned down my friends two times when they asked me come to anime north with them. It always happened near exam time, and final projects and stuff are popping up everywhere.
We don't have to take any tests to get into any universities or colleges. They base it off our average from the top six subjects we chose, and they can't be open courses.

I'm sorry, but you can be as hospitable to me as you want, soon as something racist or horribly intolerant gets said, it's been ruined heh. I can understand the mindset of people who don't believe in/want true equality, and I'd rather not. They need to get with it, or go the hell away heh.
But hey, you're cool, and you're from the South, so obviously it's not all bad. Also, we have plenty of rednecks here too. Taylor isn't a very high class city. It's sometimes referred to as "Taylor-tucky" due to the high amount of rednecks. My ex's dad had some homemade moonshine a neighbor had made. (I tried it once...it was awful, and the only time I drank something and it came right back up!)
