yankees is a not so great term coming from a southerner because of the whole civil war era. It usually comes with the connotation that you don't belong down south and aren't being taken seriously. It's usually just in the deep south that it's said seriously.

Not sure about england though either.

oh I don't know if it was more complicated, it just seemed like you were taking pretty hard classes for the grade you were in xD our public school system is so bad now though, everything will probably seem harder.

is KCON for kpop?

Caden: Yeah math wasn't so bad for me since I had the standard one and not higher. But it's mostly the fact that every class you have is sort of like an AP class and all the essay writing @_@

Yeah, KCON is for kpop.

Coincidentally, having been a "Yankee" my whole life, I don't consider it an insult, and in fact have had my view of the south kind of shaped into a low intelligence, horribly intolerant area. I mean, I know in my conscious brain that it's simply a terribly biased stereotype, but in the lower, more instinctual portion of my brain, it's the first thing I imagine when I picture "The South". I can only imagine there's some sort of equally offensive idea Southerners have of Northerners.

And you have Anime North in Toronto, crim. That's supposedly pretty good.

Also, you have to take SATs for out of state Universities, and ACTs for in state...at least here. If you go to a community college first, you don't need either and can then transfer to a University. And it requires an even lower GPA.

I've turned down my friends two times when they asked me come to anime north with them. It always happened near exam time, and final projects and stuff are popping up everywhere.

We don't have to take any tests to get into any universities or colleges. They base it off our average from the top six subjects we chose, and they can't be open courses.

Dark: A lot of the 'south' is still pretty much like that anyways. Though southern hospitality is definitely a thing too. It just would make me feel weird when she'd say that since I've lived here all my life.

I wouldn't mind being called a yankee so much if I was actually from a northern state really. Redneck is a worse name to me lol

I'm sorry, but you can be as hospitable to me as you want, soon as something racist or horribly intolerant gets said, it's been ruined heh. I can understand the mindset of people who don't believe in/want true equality, and I'd rather not. They need to get with it, or go the hell away heh.

But hey, you're cool, and you're from the South, so obviously it's not all bad. Also, we have plenty of rednecks here too. Taylor isn't a very high class city. It's sometimes referred to as "Taylor-tucky" due to the high amount of rednecks. My ex's dad had some homemade moonshine a neighbor had made. (I tried it once...it was awful, and the only time I drank something and it came right back up!)

Well yeah, though there are people that are just really nice in the south. At least compared to when I've gone anywhere else (not just up north). Not that everywhere else has a bunch of jerks...it's just hard to explain . _.

and thanks haha it's because I'm from the city and not really the true south probably (she shoulda just called me a city slicker or something.)

oh wow moonshiners o_o never had moonshine and never will hopefully (especially based on your experience lol)

nah, you should totally try it! I mean, I guess if you don't drink, don't bother. But don't shy away from trying it! It's an experience! =p

I've never heard of IB classes before, is that the same as AP ones, or...?
