I'm not sure tbh. They were kind of cheap rolls from etsy.

Probably just not the colourway for you. I really don't enjoy the combinations with scarlet. It's such a jarring colour which I find unpleasant. That's why I wear pastels a lot. It makes me feel calm when I look at my avatar :3

Eh, maybe it's a washy tape thing. I got mine from target lol Japan definitely tempted me to buy a tonne of washy tape. I just couldn't justify and somehow managed to not buy any. What a miracle.

I really like scarlet, but not combined with teal. I see how that combination is jarring. I like it best together with jade green, but just scarlet x gold can also sometimes look nice.

Did you end up finding the divergence in the manual?
I changed to computer science (because I actually wasn't very good at physics, failed some exams...) and while I still think physics is really interesting, actually doing something I enjoy a lot more in computer science than in physics. Physics was too much "just calculate the stuff" instead of conceptual understanding for me. I'm not good at calculating stuff, I like my math more abstract :D

Have we had it combined with jade green before? Yeh, scarlet and gold isn't bad but to make a whole scarlet and gold outfit might destroy my eyes.

No, it's not listed in the manual but I was able to find the laser spot diameter. I have to do a bit of math and some distance guess work since I'm currently validating a model. They don't list many things in detail in the paper like the distance of the laser spot from the incident surface. I'll just have to find a reasonable experimental distance and use that.

Physics is weird. Engineering is applied physics and sometimes we get too deep into the physics like my vibrations course. Oh myyyyyyy. I just rather not. I mean, could you even get a job with physics that's not as an academic? I find a lot of them either study it combined with engineering or do a phd and just continue in academia.

Yeah, in the strawberry set for example. Or the sleeping beauty, there mocha is added, which also fits well, imo.

Well, that's something. So you're validating a model from a paper? And the paper doesn't give you all the necessary details? That sounds somewhat annoying.

A lot of physicists I know end up getting jobs in IT ;) I even had one tell me "Good for you to change to computer science, I'll be applying to the same jobs but be less qualified in the end" :D

Oh right, see the strawberry set got remade and I never bothered to repurchase it. I completely forgot it even existed. Not my favourite sets tbh.

Yeh, they don't always include everything tbh. It's awfully annoying, there's always some set up information missing because they assumed people won't need it. BUT I DO. *cries.

That's such a waste of a degree. It's not like physics is easy or cheap. The science degrees are always double as expensive as arts degree. My boyfriend works in IT and he doesn't even have a degree in IT. He's doing it part time whilst doing CSE. Although a lot of my IT friends do logistics as opposed to support desk. CSE is really great atm especially for women. Being able to code is a vital skill even I as a mechanical engineer should probably relearn although I'm not certain which language would be best in my industry. I know enough of the language format that I can write in Matlab and I can muster up the things I learnt briefly in 2013 on C.

It's very thematical, but since I'm a huge fan of strawberries, it has a special place in my heart. And it is a nice example of a softer use of scarlet, I think :)

Poor thingy! They could at least put these kinds of details somewhere in the appendix if they think it's not interesting to most readers...

Well, it's not like they get the basic admin or support jobs. It's usually some development jobs where you need some kind of degree in stem to get in. I think the logic of the companies is "if you managed to get this degree, you're smart and can work hard, so we can train you for our specific stuff" (since they'd need to train anyone to some degree to get to know the specific setup the company uses) - and then usually physicists have some experience coding, even if they don't have the theoretical knowledge of a computer scientist to back it up.
Cost of a degree is not really a thing where I live, we pay only very little (if any) tuition here. So the cost you have is mostly just somehow living costs while you study. I don't think it'd make a lot of difference what field you're in, except for maybe how long it takes to reach the degree, but I don't know of any large differences there.

As for languages: We learned C++ and python (for numerical stuff) in my physics studies, the argument being that C++ was often used on lab equipment, iirc. I think for you as an engineer also something rather low-level like C or C++ might make the most sense? Seeing how you might want to write code that runs on some embedded devices with limited ressources, those might be the most useful.

That sounds about right. They're looking for individuals with different backgrounds, demonstration of innovative thinking, problem solving etc I'm interning for an electrical company with mech eng background and they'll teach you everything on the job. They don't expect you to know anything thus far, just that you have the capacity to learn and think for yourself as well as the work ethic and motivation. I wasn't aware physicists did a lot with C++. Well we do enough such that using Matlab is fairly simple.

Ah, lucky. Well for a science degree it's $1000 per course, per semester and arts degrees are $500 (or at least my psychology classes were). I only went as far as first year physics and computer science. It's compulsory for all engineering students.
