Ahhh... Work-a-holics end up losing everything.

So there was an incident in downtown toronto yesterday. A barge on the lake/river that had a large construction crane on it hit a few electric lines and took out power for several hours in the financial district. XD;; approx 10,000 ppl without power.

I was reading on ctvnews and a phrase stood out for me: “Toronto Fire said crews responded to a number of elevator rescues….”
I know that that’s not funny, especially since theres people who are claustrophobic, and i felt bad for those people…but i still couldn’t help myself and had to snicker. ^^;;

I use to love elevators... then I been in one that would jerk and stuff every time it started and stopped... I don't like them much anymore..

I'd probably panic or pass out if I got stuck in one. x-x

stuck in an elevator probably. 8u at least, i'd be boredddd af if i had to be stuck in an elevator for who knows how long...8u at least if its just power outage, i can go outside or something.

If it's a power outage, I have power banks that can charge my Switch Lite, Kindle, and phone so I won't have to sit in silence and have something to play or read. o3o
I also have a laptop now, though I haven't put any movies or anime on it yet.


In an elevator I'd only have a phone, 1 power bank, and a kindle. Sometimes I take my switch lite with me... But if there's people with me.. I'd panic even more.. >x<

yeah exactly. so even in a power outage, you...still have power? XD;;

i might get nervous if there were other people. if i were alone, i'm not sure how i'd feel either tho. 8u

If I have musics, I'd be alright if I were alone.
But people.. they panic which causes others to panic, and it gets noisy and then you can't hear the music even if its loud enough to make ears bleed. >:x

Yeah if there’s more ppl in the elevator, there’s bound to be someone panicking. Dunno how I’d feel if I was trapped with someone over being trapped by myself. 8u

I actually did contemplate getting some kind of solar power generator lol. XD;; there was a time where I was thinking “apocalyptic” thoughts lol.

I think it was last year... there were two days last year when we lost power for a long time.

One was on the day of Granny Brooks' funeral. We had a bad storm and the power went out due to it. At that time I hadn't gotten the USB air pumps.. it was because of that day that I ordered 2 of them on top of 2 new power banks so they could be used. I don't remember when the power came back that day, but my neighbor Mox and I pulled money together to order pizza hut that day because we couldn't cook. No electricity meant that even our gas stoves couldn't be lit. =3=

The second time.. I forget what time of day the power went out, but again there was a bad storm that day... and this time a tree or something caused problems at the power plant. Luckily I had the USB air pumps for the fish tanks by this point, because the power was out for most of the day and a majority of the night.

We had a hard time ordering food that day too... the power was out at Pizza Hut so we had to call Bellaria Pizza and they were having issues with their phones due to high volume calls. They weren't on the same power grid or something =/

But because of how long the power was out, we nearly ran out of mom's oxygen tanks. >A< her home unit doesn't work with out power... so I thought "solar powered generators.. do those exist... FK EXPENSIVE!!! Dx"

I wanted it for mom's oxygen home unit... but now I want it to run my tv when power goes out >:x

i've never really understood gas stoves. we have one of those portable, you put a gas canister in and it works, those kinds of stoves. and a portable electric one.

but like an entire stovetop thats gas. sounds kinda dangerous. 8u
