You are faced with the terrible dilemma of owning powers both great and terrible.
In your hands, the simplest weapon becomes exceedingly potent, for if you concentrate and will it so, any injury you inflict upon another through means of some metal tool carries a grave curse: the injured person will forget who they are, forget everything they have ever known, and this knowledge is drawn into your weapon.
They are left with the impressionable mind of a newborn babe, a completely blank slate to relearn everything from talking to the complexities of server coding (or whatever they knew, prior to your advent on their lives).
And you are left with a tool or weapon that becomes oracular; it has no will of its own, but anyone who thereafter takes it up and directs a question at it will receive an answer accurate to the best of the knowledge that lies within.
A dying professor who wishes their knowledge preserved might welcome you...
but you are sought for more dark purpose than that.
Many governments seek to control you, to turn your powers to their own goals, to wipe the minds of their enemies and deprive rivals of vital knowledge, to set back research in areas they deem dangerous.
Corporations, too, seek you out. The ultimate retirement security for those who do not take their non-disclosure agreements seriously enough, or even more sinister, those who merely wish to make certain of their own lead in a field.
Your services are highly sought, your powers devastating.
What will you do with them?
