I adopted some cheap Knuffel to sacrifice so it wasn't a big deal but... spoiler...

Someone please tell me what's wrong with my work please? I'm going nuts.
Equation 1: a=4b
Equation 2: 1/2(a)=b+24
Work: 1/2(4b)=b+24
2b = b+24
b = 24
4x24=96
OR: 1/2(a)=(a/4)+24
a/2 =(a/4)+24
2a = a+96
a = 96
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG??? Pm me please?
