My mom was so hotheaded when she was younger.
I remember us going to the fair and my dad parked and decided to find a different parking place.
He was backing out and these teen girls almost hit us.
My mom got out of the car and started threatening to beat their asses.
I'll never forget their faces xD
Yeah, I just...I don't know. I guess because I was made to read stuff I wasn't interested in that I just stopped liking reading.
I skim over everything quickly and get the gist of it.

This explains it. I started reading before they made us read at school so I was able to choose what I read after a while. The librarian didn't let us borrow anything other than the books he picked out for us, but I borrowed books from my friends and with a little trouble I was able to figure out what kinds of books I enjoyed (YA mostly) and sought them out. Nowadays I really enjoy mid-century women writers.

I read horror story books constantly but in school, they made us read and do quizzes on what we read.
The majority of the stuff I had to read didn't interest me in any way xD
So I started skimming over it.
Doing that and using common sense made me pass all the quizzes despite not actually reading the stories.
If it was a story about a dog, then the answers would revolve around dogs.
I still skim to this day. I don't really read anything xD;
Most of the time I do fine but sometimes I do miss stuff and misread it 8u;

I'm lucky that I first learned to read for pleasure and not for school. I didn't like reading for school either but reading as an ability I could use for what I wanted.
If I'm enjoying something I'm reading I go it even slower to sort of make it last? Also I really love psychological horror. One of my favourite horror writers is Ira Levine. He wrote Rosemary's Baby (which the horror movie is based off of) and he wrote The Stepford Wives. He's not the kind of writer you can skim though because he gives the reader a lot of clues, and you can pick up on them only if you read carefully.

I tend to listen to audiobooks if I'm interested in an actual book.
Unfortunately some people who read in them are very...not impressive :\

Yeah, it just...What's worse is when it's the author reading their own book and it's so meh ._.

that's sad, yeah. some writers are meant to just write.
i do enjoy authors reading their own poems like dorothy parker and sylvia plath.

I wanted to get the audiobook for...Lord of the Flies and I saw all the negative comments saying the author shouldn't have read it because he sucked at it xD;

i like the quietness of just reading myself better than audiobooks, overall
