I loved the books, my opinion on the movie is lukewarm, but it certanly can't on the same level as the books...
The concept is really cool and new and I think it's one of the most interesting fantasy series I've red

I really liked the movie and book #1. I didn't really get into books #2 and #3 as much though. They were just ok for me.

I love the whole series and now I'm going to read it again! :mclove:
I saw the film too, a lot of years ago, but I prefer the book. In particular I've loved the third book. :mclove:

I wish the movie had done better so they would have done the other two. /sigh

Loved the books. I did have to argue with my stepfather about letting my little sisters read it, sadly. The whole religious aspect.

I loved the movie, bought the book, and will read it eventually.

And re: Kipkn's stepfather not wanting kids to read it--I'm always disappointed when I hear things like that, because this is a great opportunity for discussion. Even if you don't like everything a book says, being exposed to different ways of thinking is usually/should be a good thing.

I loved this book too, a little more than the movie.

Unfortunately, I've read only the first book (I watched the movie though), but I do plan on getting all of them, since it was very interesting. I loved it.

Upside: I did win the argument with stepdad about the little girls reading it.

Downside: I haven't gotten them to be interested in doing so themselves, yet. x_x
