Even until now, when an option to give them back was not available, users occasionally did this. I find this highly unfair towards users who might be saving up and really want that Knuffel, as well as to myself who has to draw all these Knuffel. Kingdom Of Knuffel doesn't earn anything from Knuffel. I don't get any compensation for the time it takes me to create them, the site doesn't gain any profit nor even any funds to keep the site running from them. It takes me a lot of effort and time to make Knuffel for you and adopting Knuffel you don't really want just so they sell out faster and you can get new one is like taking something someone has created for you for free, under great effort, and then making grabby hands and demanding this person to give you things more and faster - without any compensation. This is how I see this act and it makes me sad and I certainly do not wish to encourage this behavior by letting users get Knuffel just to give them up a day later just because they are impatient. I appreciate your love for Knuffel, but impatiens does not give me more time to create new ones for you.
This is the
exact reason why being allowed to choose a Knuffel's final state when they reach level 100 ONLY once is a terrible idea. I have seriously considered buying five copies of one kind of Knuffel just to be able to have all five states when they reach level 100, and in the future if this rule doesn't change I may actually do it. (Right now I'm hoping the rule changes, so I don't. But now that there's this adoption thing I might just buy 5 Knuffels because if you finally bring in the rule I can abandon them.)
It would be way better to be able to choose the final state for free once, and after that if you want to change it to another state you can pay some kind of fee like 1000 or even the 2500 adoption fee. I don't care what the fee is, I just hate that you put in MONTHS of effort and end up only being able to pick the state once and never change it after that, for no other reason but that it's a rule that exists just to BE a rule that exists...
for no reason. What I mean is, it doesn't cost extra server space when you allow extra state-changes, it means nothing to you KOfK runners to allow a multi-change, no extra servers or bandwidth or moderators required, which means the rule's restrictive just for the purpose of BEING restrictive. Terrible, pointless, terrible rule.
Now that that's all out of the way, I do like this new adoption feature.
