You can do it, only one month is over!! :)

I am almost done with my 2nd Narnia book :)

But dropped reading "Mama Day" as I have to finish it for Wednesday, but I am at page 23, so no sense in trying. Maybe I'll read it sometime later.

I know it's very early to be pessimistic about my reading! I'm just looking at my "to read" list, and it's a bit heavier than usual and with less manga, lol!

I totally know what you mean :)

I finished Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and I am halfway through the third book :)

I just started re-watching The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe movie!

I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, so now I am at 3 books.

I'm still working on Phantom of the Opera. And I started Willow and New Moon.

What a nice thread!

I really wanted to make a challenge for 2017 but had no idea how many books are even realistic for me. My friends read 5-50 books a year, so considering normal human reading speed was of no use. I ended up setting 12 books as a challenge after making an actual list of books that were a priority

Spoiler
"Orconomics: A Satire" by J. Zachary Pike (currently reading)
"The Last Dragon Slayer" by Martyn Stanley (was asked to review this one)
"Masque" by W.R. Gingell
"Elf Saga: Doomsday: Part One: Blood of the Dragon" by Joseph Robert Lewis +other books in the series if I like that one
"Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West", "Son of a Witch", "A Lion Among Men", and "Out of Oz" by Gregory Maguire
"Seconds" (a graphic novel but a huge one) and "Scott Pilgrim" (comic books in 6 volumes) by Bryan Lee O'Malley
"Der Ring der Nibelungen" by Wolfgang Hohlbein (this one's in german, so it's more challenging)
"The Great Convergence" by Joseph R. Lallo

I'm at 63% of "Orconomics". In other words, behind my goal. But hey, some books have more pages, some have less! Maybe the hope to catch up is not lost.

Yes, every book is so different, and free time and energy are always different too! I'm quite a bit behind right now, and I don't think I will catch enough to meet my goal, but I do usually read more in the spring and summer, and maybe I will throw in a few short books lol... :mccute:

Yeah, there are definitely books which are easier or harder to read; I tend to set down hard ones for a while and finish easier ones in between to give me encouragement. And then it's a little less daunting to go back to the hard ones.
You can still make it!

I want to spend a day in library learning about mythology this year. Beside that I will try to read 50 books this year.

I'll be getting books out from the library soon, and having that deadline always gets my butt in gear!
