I've always been curious about China.

Interestingly my ex-boyfriend is from Beijing and he's always cooked me a lot of food. Now I can't eat Chinese food from restaurants, except for the dumplings, because his food was too good and it's pretty sad for me who loves food.

I would love to be close to someone who could cook good Chinese food!

That's indeed my favorite memory of him.
Other than that he wasn't exactly a great guy to be with.

Now I think about it, lately, I've been going to a small noodle restaurant that has many Chinese clients so I guess that means the taste is as close to the real thing as possible.
They do their noodles like this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLhlOsPnB-o

I can relate. I have nothing but bad memories of all my exes except for this black bean noodle dish that I ate at a restaurant with one of them lol.

That's crazy looking!

Bad memories or not I learnt a lot from all of them, and especially from him, and I don't regret it one bit.
In a way, I wouldn't be where I am no if not for him so I guess it's not all bad.

Is he using a vegetable peeler on a big lump of dough? That's so funny! I don't have sound so I hope I'm not missing a voiced-over explanation or anything; in my head he's doing it to music from a Mario Brothers game I saw about 25 years ago.

I guess all our memories shape us into who we are, good or bad. Hard to count opportunity cost of life experiences, since there's no way of knowing what the other possibilities were.
