Fruit check is indeed very common. I often get checked even within the same country for seeds and fruits. Because some invasive species that are found on one island but not on the other.

yeah we have a fruit check too if we go across the border. hence the reason why everyones always like "eat all your fruity snacks before you cross the border" lol. and there's duty free for alcohol and checks for that i think. also i think you have to provide receipts if you bought anything in the States when coming back to Canada. like if you bought any big purchases and stuff. i don't remember, its been awhile since i've cross the border.

I lived in Texas for a little bit and I killed an invasive fish. I nearly got a fine for it because the county bought them to kill another thing that was taking over the water way I was fishing in. Turns out if you buy all female fish they'll do like a frog does and morph to the needed sex so that they can reproduce.

I feel that same way about Dante's Inferno, but that's a book and not an anime. c:

Yeah the anime is about this guy who just wants to commit suicide with his lover but then he gets hit by the isekai/otherworldly truck-kun so he gets thrown into another world. But even in a new and magical world, he just wants to die. ^^;;

Indeed. I read somewhere that clown fishes do the same.
Which makes the whole plot of Finding Nemo kinda funny (since we're talking about funny plots)

Invasive animals and plants are bad tho. Like they can destroy entire ecosystems.

Yes they can. The difference with the fish in Texas is that because the state purchased them they are property of the state and they only open up a small season to harvest them. They also added those fish against the vote of the community which hasn't gone so well.

That makes sense.
Usually it doesn't end well though.
