Nothing. X.x You won't get an item out of the plant and you won't get food for the seed as it is already planted. So I would just suggest not to plant any seeds after 3 days prior to the event's end.
I will make a note to remind people in this announcement in time though.

In the end it is up to starkad, he is doing the coding, not me.
But regardless of how it turns out - If having a seed planted that does not have enough time to grow into a plant gives you food and having a seed that you don't plant give you food too, I don't really see the big deal in this. Just don't plant one after the third day prior to the end of the event. Even if you get food for planted seed, it won't make any difference, you certainly won't get more food for a planted seed than for an not-planted seed.
What I am trying to say is: It does not matter whether it will be like starkad previously said or like I just said, because if you have unplanted seeds after the event you will get food. If (according to starkad) you have planted seeds after the event, you will get food also., then it is the same no matter which way around. So you will get the same result when you just do as I explained and not plant a seed 3 days prior to the end.

English can be a bit ambigous sometimes xD
And I also assume the amounts of FPs will be small, so it wouldn't make a big difference anyway; it's more a matter of curiosity of how it should be done more than an issue of getting those FPs

heh, this is more to the point of what i meant....not "will we get food/items for leftover plants/seeds."
i was confuzzled because i did not know if we could still plant seeds beyond the point where harvesting would still be possible, or if the option to plant would be removed but we could still water, fertilize, and harvest until event end.
so to confirm, any seeds we want to harvest must be planted before midnight on November 6th?

I cannot guarantee that it will be exactly midnight as we will disable the event manually, but it will certainly not be early than this.

I'm confused now. I was under the impression that the only way to get food from seeds is if you plant them and that you wouldn't get anything if you don't plant them. Like Amura said, the food given out would probably be minimal so I'm not really worried, but confused nonetheless.

ATTENTION!
Please remember that the event ends on November 9th, which is in 3 days! Since pumpkins need 3 days to grow, no pumpkins planted later than today can be be harvested!
If you have a seed planted that won't manage to grow into a pumpkin, or if you have left-over seeds, they will be converted into food after the event.
