I think the fanservice is funny in itself. XD
It's too over the top to take super seriously...

Well it's a comedy sort of anime at it's core
So it's not like I intended to take the series too seriously
but I find too much fan service to get annoying

I guess gimmicky is what the fan service feels like to me
Like they threw it in there just to get more viewers rather than a valid reason
I feel the same way about female fan service in anime as well
All that does is make it awkward to watch or mention around friends

Higurashi started doing this in the later two seasons (Rei and Kira)
and that's when I stopped watching it
because it turned into fan service filler episodes
Rei had one really good fridge horror episode
but the rest was pretty bleh

Well, just for you, I'll send three tickets if you take her. It's a great place to go.

It's good for one admission to the village OR the museum, but not both. So pick which one you want to go to more. You can even wait to see what the weather's like, you don't have to choose until you're there.

I can always rant to him about these things

I dunno I don't see it as fanservice, personally.

I know that it is but I don't see it as such.

@Frogger - Rin is just kind of... He made his own angsty problems? I feel kinda bad for him but I'm still really irritated? I think he'd have to overstep a bigger line for Gou to retaliate like that, though...? XD
Yeah that's why I'm conflicted about him because I can understand maybe being upset that someone with no training is better than you at something, but he just blows it out of proportion. I guess they really are going to wait to the very end to make him see how wrong he's been @_@

and I want it to be a friendship punch...punch the friendship right into his face >_>;
(but yeah I know she wouldn't punch him. Most she would do is maybe give him a stern talking to)

Also yeah I see them as really good friends, but there are those times where they stare too long at each other that it makes me wonder haha

And the Drama CDs make it even gayer, which I didn't even think was possible

@Konan - I can see how it's annoying when fanservice-y stuff seeps into something that didn't have it before, but... I don't want to watch pandering moeblob slice-of-lifes like K-On! or whathaveyou, but I think it's fine they exist, you know?

@Sin - Hmm...

@Frogger -
Well, no training... It's not like Haru is someone who almost never swims and then magically is awesome through some sort of sheer force of talent (he's pretty much obsessed...) so Rin kind of comes across as a bit... I dunno, anyway... We'll see if he manages to turn around in time before the end.

A friendship punch gives a good mental image. ^^

Oh man, I love Makoto's Gentle Stare of Eternal Devotion. ;__;

I can't help it...

I should go to bed but-
Back to the Makoharu and related tags for meee...

Tea: Yeah I mean 'no training' like all he wants to do is swim and he's just a naturally really fast swimmer. And he doesn't want to learn any of the official strokes or anything too (since all he wants to do is swim) so it's just Rin being jealous that Haru doesn't go to special training camps in australia or get extra coaching and is still on his level. Which I can understand a small jealousy there...not whatever Rin has going on.

Rin is just a dumb baby shark

but yeah me and Sin think that he'll finally learn his lesson during the the relay, since he's just doing it because it will be like the good ol days, but it won't be

I'm still super behind~

but unless the last 2 episodes added way more fanservice

I don't actually think the show is all that fanservice-y

and I watch it because I like the characters and think it's funny

(I like Rin too, so far. I mean he's an angsty over-emotional teenager. I dunno, he feels like his problems are super important because he's 17, lol)
