Chinese New Year parade? I've never seen a parade for those before...? XD;; Chinese New Year is more a religious thing, going to temple, praying with incense, going to the night market...xD;; maybe a lion dance or two. But not a parade...xD;;

My bad. I guess the lion dances make me think of parades. lol

Iunno, they might have parades in Asian countries. And there's always news on how people get trampled on their way to popular temples to get their first blessings of the year. Sometimes people even die. o-O Asians can be crazy that way.

My daughter's part Asian. Explains a lot. lol She's also a Bohunk so there's hell there. XD

Japan does have parades for Chinese New Year. I think France did too.
That being said, it's not Chinese New Year, but Japan does go to temples/shrines for the calendar New Year and, while I haven't heard of people getting trampled and dying, I wouldn't even be surprised if it happened because the crowds are crazy.

(Though to be fair, Japan also has a Saint Patrick parade, and Christmas Markets, and many other things, they tend to use anything they can to have random events/parties.)

Well I wouldn't be surprised if some other countries do have parades for Chinese New Years. XD just....we don't really have any of that here. All we do is night markets and temple visits.

I think it was particularly bad one year in China where there were a few trampling to death incidents. At least, I think so...? it made the news I think.

That's probably what I remember! I think I was watching something on Japan doing Chinese New Year parades, but my brain was thinking China. But then again I probably haven't seen the thing since whenever. We have cable so whatever comes on the travel station or whatever is what we watch, but lately we've been watching DVDs or live PD. lol
