Maybe you should advice the teachers in your school to buy Photoshop since it is a very good program ! =)
maybe the teacher just want to test you about your print screen abilities xD ,... Like in a way you know how to do that.

How sad for a computer science student to not know how to print screen......................
They do have photoshop, though it is CS5, so they want us to use CS5 nd lower cause using a higher one could result in the file being unable to opened
