Thanks for the help. Sorry for the lateness. No computer at home right now. It's getting fixed. Luckily we have insurance on it. And I can't use my dad's lap top all the time. Ugh!
So I'm updating now.

You can have insurance on a computer?
I didn't know that!

I mean...technically speaking when you buy a computer you can get a warranty on it, which tends to mean the same thing as insurance when it comes to computers.

I don't think I've ever bought a new computer that had a warranty. Mostly I get them from the local computer repair place. They'll do phone support for the first month and then you're on your own, which is not the same thing.

I got my laptop at Best Buy. You can do a warranty/replace function and the Geek Squad will help you. But I'd have to pay extra for that.

You can insure pretty much anything if you want. Some things you buy with credit cards are even automatically insured by the company.
Like, I bought my phone and less than a year later it was stolen and, while it wasn't insured specifically, it was insured through the credit card company we bought it with and I got nearly the whole price back and bought myself a new phone.

Now that I didn't know or think was possible. Normally if it's not offered from where you're buying it from, you're up the creek without a paddle. Is there a notice that the credit card company gave when you originally purchased the phone? And is it a one time thing?

Nope, no notice at all. They would never advertise something that ends up costing them money. From what I understood, since it was obvious it was stolen during a trip and I had the police statement to prove it, it was pretty easy to make their travel insurance kick in. I don't know what distance from home you'd have to be for the travel insurance to kick in though and I don't think they cover everything either, nor do I think all credit cards do. Like, possibly, if it would fall in your toilet, you'd get peanuts.
That being said, insuring phones and electronics is usually useless because they lose value so fast.
And I remember a time when I was younger where my mother managed to get our house insurance to kick in for something that happened on our cemetery plot.
So basically, insurance is a mess, you never know everything that's in your contract because no one reads it and it doesn't hurt to ask.
