XD rotfl That's actually me and Ash. I'll tell him something, thinking he's listening, he'll make a sound confirming my assumption, and then some time later I'll be arguing with him that I told him and how dare he not listen to me whn I tell him important stuff like that XD
I'm not a saint, it can also happen to me, but it's nothing compared to how many times it's happened with Ash, I mean, how do I make him listen? Impossibru, lol

I try to be good with listening but just not when I have told someone not to talk to me 15 times already XD It's not my fault after that stage.
I'm the same with my fibro fog sometimes though, I just phase out halfway through a conversation and come back in a few sentences later with no idea of what was said. Sometimes I can manage to pretend I didn't understand and ask for them to say it another way, but a lot of them time I just have to guess what they said and hope I got it right
For some reason people don't like it when you say, "Can you repeat that because I wasn't paying attention" lol

True, that's absolutely not your fault then XD
Oh, yea, I can see how that may be troublesome x.x

The good thing is it rarely happens with people I actually care about. I just find it more tiring to socialise with outside people and therefore that's when my attention is shorter. But I do wonder if people think I'm rude sometimes
Random offshoot, but I'd just like to mention how much I really love this smilie:

That's helpful

I do understand that socializing with others may be more difficult and tiring. Even I experience that. They probably think you're rude, or maybe they don't notice it at all or they think that perhaps you're just tired or troubled by other things.
Ikr, it's cute

I just want to squeeze its grumpy little face XD
Hopefully the second one. I got really annoyed recently when we were supposed to meet up with friends, a couple who we have known for a really long time. When we got there they had invited along another couple too, people I had never met before. Also everyone was sat around one table so we had to awkwardly line up near to them and I couldn't at all hear what the new ones were saying properly. I hate these kind of occasions without having the time to mentally prepare myself

I would feel the same way in such a situation!
I hate this. I love meeting friends I haven't seen in ages. Should they bring new people without even asking/telling, I would be annoyed. I mean - if I haven't seen them for so long I really want to see them and talk to them, hear what news they have. And not trying to get to know new people. Worst case: they have some insider jokes and I am sitting there, waiting for it to be over
I am usually a good listener. I simply forget so much!
But it's hard for me to concentrate on those kind of small talk things like name, occupation, family members, etc.

@jacob: Aww, unannounced new people, its the worst D: and inconsiderate of your friends imho...
@Julez: Same, I can forget things even the same day XD
And names don't even reach my ears if I don't focus x.x; Once I focus, I can remember a whole lot of stuff, but mainly small, probably irrelevant ones xD

Ugh god names. I have to remember people by descriptions like "music guy" or "girl with long earrings" for weeks before I can grasp their names usually XD no idea the names of this new couple we met. Oh well, they probably won't want to meet us again since I was too "rude" haha XD
Inside jokes are the absolute worst. I have to watch J carefully because when he gets nervous in talking to new people, he goes to the refuge of referencing things that he and I know. So then I have to explain the whole story to the other people so they will get the joke, or just kick him under the table and change the subject XD

Haha, that's how Ash was trying to remember my family members! XD For example: my grandma's brother was "the taxi driver" because the moustache reminded Ash of one. One of granny's sisters was "the bride's mom" (I was trying to teach him who was who on my cousin's wedding, lol). Another cousin of mine is "the flegmatic guy" and his sister is "the curly haired girl", it's always so funny, he still need those explanations sometimes
Oh, yea, it's hard to refrain from telling your inside jokes to others tho... I'm the one who does that, I'll tell the joke, and only remember to explain it if someone says/seems they didn't get it
