Looking at people's avatar I think that it looks pretty good like this:
Nothing weird here.
All headpieces like this were layered like this before and no one ever complained. I honestly wouldn't know how to layer them any other way. As you have seen layering them between front and back of the hair covers most of the headpiece.

It does look good when it's applied on other hairstyles.
But when it's applied on Senyoru-Chan's hairstyle, it looks weird to me.
Although... yeah... it would be covered if it were moved behind. ='/

I think the layering's fine. It's looking like what's being talked about is maybe the angle it sits at? If the band were angled more along the length of the hairstyles a little, it might not be a big deal.
But I like it the way it is. ^-^
