A friend of mine's once thought I insulted her with ">>v" (peace sign) because she mistook the "v" for a sweatdrop. I had to clarify it after. *headfloor*
Oh yeah, you just reminded me to give everyone those event points when you said that; thanks! I knew I forgot something. XD

I think a lot of people have things they overuse. I used to overuse "lol" then "XD" and now it's "aha." I don't know why I have this think for constant amusement. *headfloor*

this one that scares and confuses me...
My favourite "overuseds" are:
"XD"
"lol" (less often)
"faints" (every single occasion): "faints of excitement", "faints surprisedly"
"dies" -> the same as "faints" actually
Lately I've been using "smirks" often.

Aha. Well, according to my library class, it's good to use emotes online. Since we don't have real facial indicators online, the next best thing are emotes and smilies to get the proper tone/message across.

I agree. But overusing can be really irritating. When you start chatting in smileys... Well... It can be fun. But sometimes you expect something more than this -> :)

He: :)

i just like using emotes to help get the expression i have c:
but since i'm so used to using them it feels weird not using it when you're emailing relatives or people who wouldn't know what emotes were * ^ *;;

Yo, all! I just got back from feeding my mule's knuffels. XD;
@Alice: Yeah, I can see that. I've never been annoyed with people's speech patterns myself (I think that having experience modding for second-language users has made me immune. *headfloor*) but I can understand where you're coming from.
