My mom told me he hit another pole at work...
He hurt his ribs.
The thing is, he only gets one day a week off and he has trouble sleeping so he's overworked and tired.

He's always getting hurt and I'm the same way.
I worry about him because he needs this job and he's hit the pole a few times.
I'm worried they'll fire him but like...he's probably their best worker >>
He got a promotion and always works - even on his one day off.
He needs a vacation or two days a week off instead of one.
He says he doesn't want more days off because he'll just lie around the house eating and sleeping.
HE NEEDS TO DO THAT \uB</

Some people does not understand the importance of proper rest.
I guess it has to do with your previous experiences in life, so there is no amount of reasons that can change their mind.

He has Narcolepsy and Sleep Apnea and he doesn't get the kind of sleep he should to begin with.
He chugs energy drinks to stay awake and it's not good for his Diabetes.
He also stopped smoking and went back to it and falls asleep with lit cigarettes in the bed Bu
My dad's always worked. He's never been at home. Sometimes he'd work and donate plasma just so we had money. My grandpa was the same way minus selling plasma.
My grandpa worked at the same company for over 30 years and missed maybe a handful of days.
When he was off, he'd find stuff to work on around the house.

He's narcoleptic and he uses a forklift? Isn't it a bit dangeous?
Yeah, that's what I think happens to many people.
You've grown without money, you know you gotta work your ass off to get some. But you get so used to living that way that you take it to the limits - you even become unreasonable.
I think we (all the newer generations) are kinda the opposite.
You see some people so used to having everything without effort, that they are not willing to make any effort to get anything - it just does not makes any sense to them.

He chugs energy drinks to keep himself awake.
He was taking medication to keep him awake but I don't know if he still takes it.
So he needs stuff to keep him awake and then he needs stuff to put him to sleep.
I myself have Sleep Apnea and Insomnia issues and I also need medication to sleep.
My dad can sometimes be lazy, but he's earned it. My dad's always worked and he's always worked his ass off.
People, mostly my mom's side, would talk shit about him and cuss him out and even be racist towards him because he's Mexican.
As a kid, I had to listen to people insult my dad - eventhough they were family.
When I got older, I told my mom it made me angry and the next time someone started insulting my dad - she told them not to do it around me.
Even now, hearing people talk badly about him pisses me off.
My dad's not a saint but he's a good man who works hard and he cares too much about others.
I've been called lazy so many times because I have a disability and can't work.
People think having a job means you're worth something in life so if you don't have one - you're worthless. A worthless piece of lazy trash.
I'd work if I could. I'd take a job where I could work in the back and not have to deal with people but that's not how most jobs work. Most jobs would sit me out in front of customers and I'd have to have a panic attack, run home, and then be fired \8u/

People should not insult anyone, no matter what.
You may disagree with someone's choices in life, but it does not mean you've earned a right to say your unkind opinion towards them.
Keep your shit to yourself.
*sighs*
I miss my grandpa.
94 years he lived, never ever muttered an unkind word about anyone. Ever. In any circumstance.
