For example in Minecraft you can take coal and make an item called coal block that takes up a LOT less room than coal. So I'll compress the coal into coal blocks to make rooms for other things.

Which game? I'm in Wizard 101 and RIFT because I play 'em with friends (as well as alone sometimes). My favourite game's just a flash game where you don't really see other players in most the areas, though.
