@Xae: Claudius was meant to balance out Faris (or vice versa), as the latter loves to dress up in all sorts of flashy outfits. :3 Their personalities are different too, but I guess that's why they get along so well. <3

In RPs, I tend to have more practical-looking characters and in art, I have flashy characters. Sometimes the characters cross-over and I get both. >>b

ive been practicing bcs i like it!!!!
i get reluctant to erase bcs like for this one, i loved how the arms hands and face were curved adn such ;^; but its not the style so it HAS to go!

I don't think my OCs are anything special to steal... Their life is in my mind, their pictures are not that fantastic... I mean... There can be people wearing the same skirt, right? Why can't it be that my OC is dressing at the same fashion house as someone else's? :)
As for appearance... I don't claim any special markings... You can get the scar on the same place as the other person just because you have fallen the same way. Or got hit. And common things like hair, eyecolor... Many people share the same. And many OCs too.
So what is important for me is the story. The concept. One can "steal" the way Jasem dresses up but one will never know WHY she does. And that's what I find important. I can't claim her style but I can explain every detail in it. I can't call her haircut or anything else original but I can provide you with a reason if asked.
It even looks like the more casual, common, ordinary I make my OCs the more I know about them. Because when you see another demoness who is nearly naked you don't ask "why?". It's all clear. It's another cool and hot character who doesn't wear any armor on the most vital parts. But when you dress your OC in something anyone could wear you see - nothing special in appearance so what is special inside? Here is when you have to ask "why?".
That's why I don't care much about design stealth... When I'm thinking about them in my head I don't imagine images, I imagine stories, ways, decisions, thoughts, desires... And all the jazz. XD

Hmmh, if that's traditional I wouldn't know how to help, I'm pretty bad at it myself.
And I'm not sure what to call it.

@Alice: Yes, I'm pretty aware of all that you've described. It doesn't mean that all your characters have to look 'ordinary'. It's interesting to experiment with designs that are seemingly 'more original' because, while they're still based off ordinary things or articles of clothing that everyone has used, you used your imagination to wrap it differently around your characters.

And I agree, your character doesn't need to have the most astonishing outfit to be awesome. There are some characters that have too much stuff on, that ends up making their designs plain ridiculous.

But, I give my characters a lot of depth, their profiles are so long that I have not many ideas as to what else I should add (Though there are probably plenty and more than limitless options)
I never post their full profiles online or their backgrounds usually because along with the designs, it's 'them' what's been tried to be stolen.
Same for my plot. Once I shared a lot of ideas with a friend, and she stole them, and posted them as her own, even without editing what I wrote. That hurt and it made me wary.
But I also learned to pick who I trusted important things to more carefully.

.. . Oh, yes, I'm not going to share my whole plot or full OCs' backgrounds because I'm really jealous for ideas. Greedy. lol
I mean there are just things I don't want to share because I call them mine. They may be the most primitive things on Earth, but I just claim them and that's all. It happens with my studies too. When I hear someone telling students things I know or things I've told I feel jealous though I know that this is not any secret or unique information and anyone can know it. But if I've spent years to discover something (even if it's already been discovered) and put a lot of my personal into it, I am jealous.
Characters and stories are the same I'm paranoid, I know but I put my personal into them, to develop them and it would really hurt I know to find out that the result of your mental and emotional effort belongs to someone else.
