That makes sense. I've had some OCs I redesigned because I listened to people giving critique to others and it made sense.

I redesigned my OC Scarlet:

I've seen some amazing fanart people have made in their own style.
Like I look at the art so many times and love it because it was the character AND the artist's style x3
I used to be afraid to draw fanart because I didn't want to make the characters I liked ugly xD

Finally drew something new.
Had a dream of this piece. It's not exactly like this
but i think it looks good so far.

I've never drawn a guitar before.
They seem hard.

Will do.

I plan to finish this one and upload it to my social media.
Even just the sketch as I just love how it's coming out.

It's not as hard if you use references.
I never not use references.

I try to use as little references as possible due to a traumatic event of being accused of copying/tracing art xD
I KNOW artists need references because how will they learn?
But it still affects me to this day xD;

honestly, everyone will try to claim you do copy.
Especially if you do digital.
For traditional they don't claim they do often which is stupid
because a lot of people assume the computer does it for you.

But considering how for a long time i didn't use them and it shows
in my art NOW i do not like it.

So I use references all the time.

Oh my God people don't know how digital works.
I finally got a printer and took art to show my therapist and he said "So do you have a program that does it for you or do you press a button 8D?"
And I was like ">____> I DRAW all of it by hand."

I can't believe there are people that say digital art isn't real art and that it's easy.
My bestie's ex used to tell her he couldn't respect her art because she made digital art and he made traditional.

I remember one time someone literally tried
to prove to me that traditional was better and would be like
"You can't take it with you and travel like you can with a sketchbook"
Me: "if you have a tablet you can."

The person literally tried to prove to me so hard traditional was superior.

this... just goes to show how little people understand about technology, which is really depressing, because... literally how out of touch with the current times are you to be able to assume that a computer will just Draw the art for you?

We're advanced in technology
but not that advanced lol.
