I'm bored.
[Luna loses sight of the rabbit she was chasing and finds herself lost and meets a strange bat-like man wearing a suit jacket and an abnormally large top hat. He is sitting at a large table in the middle of the woods alone drinking tea.]
Luna: Excuse me.
DM: Well hello there. [gets up and walks to Luna]
Luna: Hello. Um I seem to be lost.
DM: Are you sure? You seem to be standing in front of me so wouldn't that mean you are found because we found you.
Luna: Well what I mean is I've lost my way. We?
DM: Yes we. People call me Dm
Darkness: And my name is Darkness. [Reaches out with his large ribbon arms to shake Luna's hand]
Luna: [shakes hands]
Darkness: Want some tea? [Reaches behind Dm and pulls out a tea kettle and cup from thin air. Pours some and holds it out to Luna]
Luna: [Shakes head and declines]
Darkness: [Hands cup to Dm and he drinks it] You must not be from around here if you've lost your way.
Luna: I'm not. I was just following a white rabbit down here and now I don't know where he went.
DM: [Almost spits out tea and drops the cup] Woah, you don't want to follow the white rabbit.
Darkness: He has the Ace of Hearts.
Luna: Ace of hearts?
Darkness: [Crosses arms] You definitely are new here.
DM: [Reaches up and hits Darkness] What he means is, you don't seem to be familiar with the system that keeps Wonderland in order.
Darkness: [Hits DM back after he's done talking]
Luna: Wonderland? System?
Darkness: [sighs]
DM: Well its a system based off of cards. Each member of wonderland gets a card. Most people get the typical cards such as a 2 or 6 and so forth while others get rarer cards such as aces and royalty. The suit determines what royalty you work for.
Luna: How do you get these cards? And will I be given one?
DM: You get them from birth.
Darkness: [points to Luna] And you already have one.
DM: All visitors get the Joker upon arrival.
Luna: [Checks what has been in her stocking scratching her leg and pulls out a Joker card]
DM: Its odd that the Queen of Hearts is sending out her Ace to get a visitor to enter Wonderland, unless...
Darkness: She's gathering Oysters.
Luna: The woman with the Queen of hearts, what makes her so special?
DM. Isn't it obvious?
Darkness: She's a queen.
DM: Those with the royalty cards are actually royalty or work closely for the royalty of their suit. Most of the cards can have an infinite number of people with them but there is only one person with each ace and royalty card living at a time. First there are the kings.
Darkness: The king of Spades, The King of Clubs, The king of Diamonds, and The King of Hearts.
DM: Then the Queens
Darkness: The Queen of Spades, The Queen of Clubs, The Queen of Diamonds, The Queen of Hearts.
DM: Then the Jacks and finally the Aces that work for them.
Darkness: All of the others are regular citizens
Luna: Well why is the Queen of Hearts in control of everything? What happened to the King and the other Royalties?
DM: [Leans in and whispers] She killed her husband and her son and stole their cards. With the power of all three and her "pet" she was able to overpower-
Darkness: And overthrow-
DM: all of the other royalties.
Luna: Is there a way to change it?
Darkness: A new king or queen must overthrow the Queen of Hearts to restore the balance.
DM: And it seems we might know the person for the job.
Luna: Who?
DM: The Joker can become any card with enough time and willpower.
Luna: [Stunned] what are your cards?
DM: [Reaches into his Jacket and pulls out a Queen of Clubs]
Darkness: [Reaches underneath and pulls out a King of Clubs]
