Rocks in the pot also help with drainage. It's recommended.

The soil i use drys really fast, its a cacti type soil so the rocks weren't really needed for drainage reasons. Hiro had knocked one over on me one day while we had company over x-x it went down my pants.

That's when we got the rocks (we took them from outside a dr office.. >w>)
I was all.. "He won't spill this on me ever again! D:<"

Akili - owo its not really stealing the idea since they have many plant raising purposes and I recommend the rocks anyway.

The small ones you normally find outside businesses and doctor offices around bushes and trees >w> those ones are what I use/took. shhh

I put them at the bottom of the pot, add a bit of dirt, put the plant in and then put the rest of the dirt in. I've seen people put the rocks in last, but for the cat thing, put them in the bottom.

That definitely makes more sense, to put them in first. My aloes are in sand mixed with broken-up-styrofoam (I didn't have enough sand), so they drain fine already, but the rocks in the bottom would really help with the weight distribution issues!

I wish I could get some sand to add to the cacti mix as they seem to grow better in sand and not dirt, and the cacti mix has no sand in it =x= like.. how is this a cacti mix when there's no SAND! D:< but the aloe grow nice the first few months they're inside it.. suppose to change the soil every 6 months but I might make it every 4 if I can get the soil more often. I change it next month owo

Sorry I wasn't on much today. I was busy watching shows like How the Grinch Stole Christmas (original cartoon of course), Mrs. Santa Claus, and Going my Way.
