XD Wow, that was quite a feedback.
Something I think about now and then are labels. I always talk about breaking stereotypes, and though I use labels, I don't take them very seriously. "Mary-Sue" is a label, though, isn't it, and taking tests with "pass or fail" results puts a lot of pressure on a character and may even feel like you're trying to put them in a box.
I know sometimes I feel similarly suffocated because people IRL tell me what I should or shouldn't do and how I should live my life more conventionally. If I compare that to a Sue test, it would be like I'm the character and they're the ones testing me, telling me whether I'm actually worth anything of value or if I'm just a failure in life. *headfloor*
I still prefer self-evaluation for Sue-dom. I believe if you really wanted to make a character who wasn't a Sue, you'd actually listen to other people's good intentions and opinions --if not from people who volunteer them, then from a book or some other guide to proper character creation. On the other hand, if you're just writing for the sake of enjoyment, you might not even want to know those particular details to story-telling in the first place.

.. . I agree. That's why I always try to say "getting a close to sue result is not bad". But somehow I manage to say everything exept not what I want. lol
Sues exist in nature!!! XD
But... the test serves a very good purpose - you look at you character and ask questiones you've never asked.

Mika: Ah, I see XD Well, you can always get a...manly sling XD -Mom made a lovely pink sling, though dad used it at times when my sister was a baby baby XD-
I don't understand Glee, and would never watch it. Everyone's gay >> I like a balence...And why fo little kids watch it? >>
Alice: Long post 8U
Well, I didn't get a Sue because of all three categories, But for other reasons XD Like, "Do you think your character is a good role model" Uhm, she can be XD
I have done many Sue tests, and I get different results. ONce I got results worse than the 300 question one >>
Although, I keep forgetting to put my werewolf through it, I will later to see how I fair. But on Nuke's he was fine XD
I also found this character chart/meme thing on DA which can be used to test a cast of characters. I think I'll use it for my comic characters XD

.. . Sorry for the long post. I never know how to write such things short. XD.. . Web, are you talking about this one? I find it a bit inacurate... I think the best idea for such charts is like "write down as many things as you can about your OC that you like in one column and as many things as possible that you don't like - in the second column". Because "balance" here it's not about 15 good and bad facts but about how idealistic YOU make the character.

@Alice: Uh, I don't consider people who are multitalented or awesomely beautiful as Sues. To me, Sues are two-dimensional.
@Webkinz: What's a manly sling?
Aha, uh, no, like, two kids are gay, two more are bi, and eight or so are straight. Glee is silly and dramatic. Sometimes it's a little too silly and dramatic, but I can never argue with the music.
Man, I don't think I can be so dedicated as to take a 300 question quiz.

.. . Hm, no person can be multitalnted+awesomely beautiful+have a fitting name+have extraordinary powers+be healty and so on, you see. If we think about someone "damn it, he's rich and beautiful and such a great poet and brilliat at martial arts and is completely healthy" that means we don't know the person at all.
.. . Sueness is more a matterof author's relation to his character. That's why I like the question "do you feel offended when someone doesn't like your OC?" very much! XD Though I agree that sue is a lable and so on but I want to investigate this phenomenon. I have nothing against multitlented people and characters. I've got nothing against awesomely beautiful people and characters. I have really got nothing against anything outstanding. But I haven't met an outstanding person who is adored by everyone. And sues seem to be about this exactly - you can write an awesome charater and expect everyone to like them. But the problem is if it's awesome for you no garantee any one else will like them. So sueness is in point of view. Even though it's a label.

But if your friends don't like your OCs, I feel like that's kinda sad. Not that I feel offended, but it does get me started as to wondering why they might not like them.

Alice: Yes and no XD There's a more in depth one that I may try...
Mika: By manly I mean not pink XD;
Well, to each his own XD Besides, I don't like most shows like that -not because of gays, I just don't get it XD-
And that's how I'd feel if someone hated my OCs. I'd also have a hissy fit then rant >>

Hello~
The Sue discussion continues~
I don't think people can be in trouble for relating to their OCs. I think I said it before, but literature is littered with authors who basically wrote themselves and/or their situation into a book.
I don't care if someone hates my OCs. Some of them aren't terribly likable. Some I'd be a bit like... hmm we probably won't get along...
