The store I go to is a smaller store, so maybe the bigger ones have cartons of milk 8u
It's like two minutes away, so we always go to that one.

They have bigger versions of the same store so they often have way more stuff there.

I want a place that sell Japanese snacks >Bu
I can order them online, but nothing that will melt because it WILL melt.

ah i see. well having a shop close by is better than none i suppose.

don't you have asian supermarkets? we have lots here, even entire cities which are known for their Asian communities, as well as places like Chinatown or Korea Town or Little Tokyo/Jtown or Little Italy or The Village (LGBTQ area) or something? we got them alllllllll here loool.

I've been going there since I was really little.
There's one guy who's been working there for a long time that my mom will talk to sometimes.
I see some of the same people every time I go up there.
I feel safer going there, but I hate going. If that makes sense.
We go up there constantly, we might as well just move in Bu
We're supposed to go up there today \>8u/

Nope. There's one in Houston, but that's like 4-6 hours away.
We don't have much in the way of Asian food and snacks aside from some Chinese takeout places.
I think there's maybe a couple Thai and Vietnamese restaurants too unless they closed.
There was this one restaurant that made "Asian Food influenced by Chinese, Thai, and Korean cuisine."
It had been around for a while until COVID hit. Then it closed.
I never went there, but I acknowledged its presence and it made me sad it closed.
Now it's going to be a dentist office Bu

its nice, to go to your neighborhood grocer and know the people there because you've just lived there for that long. that sense of nostalgia and memory.....

ahhhhh that sucks. yeah we have quite a few asian super markets here, as well as some fusion markets where its not just asian but its like western stuff as well.

I wish they had more Japanese snacks 8,u
They have a few but nothing I really want.

I actually don't see many Asians here so I guess that's why there's no markets.
My town is getting new stuff here and there, though so that's progress.
There was actually a Japanese crepe and Thai ice cream place downtown.
Unfortunately COVID hit before we could go and I don't know if the place is still there Bu

They like giving us nice things then taking them away.
I used to go to this awesome anime store when I was a kid and it disappeared.
Then there was a place that sold anime and manga along with VHS and DVDs and CDs and it disappeared.
Then I found this store that sold the same stuff.
It was in business most of my life and then it disappeared.
Which broke my heart xD

Our supermarkets have an entire aisle just for Japanese snacks lol. XD;;

Ahhh I see. Yeah we have a very large Asian presence here so lots of Asian supermarkets. Even full on Middle Eastern, Korean, Japanese, Filipino. Polish grocers as well. One of my former co-workers is Hispanic and sometimes, on her way to giving me a ride home, she would stop by this Hispanic/Cuban grocer so she can get the stuff she needed for her home recipes. So yeah, a large multicultural presence here.

And I've seen a few anime/manga stores here as well. I remember one in the city was right next to a Zanzibar strip club loooooool.

Ours just has a few on the rice and sauce aisle.

Mostly we just have Chinese places.
A lot of Mexican places because it's Texas.
I'm sure if you go to bigger cities like Houston and Austin and Dallas, there's a lot of stuff.

No anime places here xD
Closest we got is some game stores.

Oh. Well. That's. Just so laaaaaaame, uuuuuuugh. But yeah, we have special grocers for different nationalities. It's nice!

Chinese gets bland after awhile. Being Chinese, I know. Eating Chinese for a large part of life becomes to pale in comparison lol. I do like other Asian foods though, like Korean and Japanese and Vietnamese and stuff. I had sushi today. <3

BOOOOOO. Anime/manga stores are like a necessity loool. Although, bookstores now have manga and anime to buy so.......maybe not too bad lol.
