Kingdom of Knuffel

Right; not counting the messed-up day (yesterday. I finally found where the sudden influx of FP came from, the one that wreaked havoc on my math. I was outbid on something in the market. Unfortunately tracking that part down did not give me the specifics that would have let me figure out the true count for yesterday. So. Setting that aside!) here's the rundown on the chipchip fountain:


Day 1: 640
Day 2: 2150
Day 3: 110
Day 4: 440
Day 5: 1190
Day 6: invalid count
Day 7: 670
Current total: 5200
Current average/day: 866 (& 2/3rds)


It has paid for itself exactly, when excluding the invalid count, and SLIGHTLY more than that when that day is included.

Again, though -that's on a knuffel which was already at lvl 100 (so 25 digs/day), and had been given Amely the Cat (so 50 digs/day)

I'd assume it takes a fortnight rather than a sennight to pay for itself on a typical lvl 100 knuffel.

Still, when you don't need the materials for quests or to make pills with, it's worth doing, it turns out!

Akili, shouldn't you factor in somehow how much the knuffel would find without the fountain? Since you really couldn't count that part toward the fountain paying for itself... I wouldn't want to put the fountain off the knuffel to collect the data on that though :D

Kyan, that's so sweet of your fiancee! You're lucky he's interested in sharing that hobby (if you can call it that? sorry if that's not appropriate) with you :)

Also, sorry for not being very active lately... I've spent more freetime on games and books than on the internet somehow, compared to usually.

@Chrizine: That's true; also I have not been accounting for the opportunity cost -the worth of what it WOULD have been finding in its own element, without the fountain.

Let's see. Fountain says it gives only a +25% chance, doesn't it?
So 100% of regular finds + 25% chance with fountain means 4/5 of what has been found, would have been found without it.

Which means it actually really takes a little over a month to pay for itself, with cat, and ten weeks without.


Definitely not really something I'll invest in whole-sale. >.<

Kyanite20 - Awesome! I got married in March to coincide with my school's spring break so we could go on our honeymoon without messing up my grades. lol.

I am thinking about teaching in primary schools, but when I first get to teach I am sure I will go to where ever hires me!

Teaching seems like it would take a lot of patience, teaching the same thing each year. I guess you'd really learn the subject though, and you'd have to change things up a bit each time, I suppose, with different learning styles for the different groups of students.
