Also for the Secret Santa I was thinking of making a thread and giving a set date for everyone to register to me through pm, with a little blurb to say what kind of items they'd like to get and what they don't want at all (I'd encourage people to share their wishlist basically and add some commons to said list haha)

then I draw random numbers and match two people, sending them a pm with the person they need to get a gift for and that person's wishlist.

On a set date near Christmas they then send a trade along the day with a 'merry christmas' message and one or two items from their wishlist c:

I'd maybe give it a minimum spending amount or such? Basically trying to make sure one person doesn't send someone a 10k+ item and receives 2 cheap commons c':

I would aim for that yeah, I want to make it nice and simple for people to join c;

I personally prefer it when people are not put in pairs that gift each other, but rather everyone gets assigned someone they send their gift to, but they receive one from someone else. That way it's less of a "I gave x to person a, but received only y back" disappointment danger. Since it's different people... Does that make any sense?

But yeah, some price range and a wishlist which also contains a bunch of commons sounds very helpful!

There's always a chance for disappointment I think, not sure how it would be completely prevented that way?

say I link person 1 with 2, 3 with 4 etc
or I let person 1 send a trade to 2, 2 send to 3, and 3 to 1

I think there's the same chance of someone going 'aww I sent my person 5 commons and I only got 2' or such. I eman I don't see how the different approach would lessen the chances of that so much?

Hopefully the price range and inclusion of commons will prevent that, I'm aiming on making a comprehensive list of 'rules' like that to ensure that everyone gets something they like.

And maybe I can go with price tiers. Where people can choose by their budget.

tier 1: I want to send a few commons, can't afford more (and please no lunatic fringe) haha so like 5k budget?

tier 2: 10k budget, with some luck I might be able to find/have a wishlist item for you if not I can get some of the more expensive commons on your latest dream avatar etc

Yeah, I mean, you can still be disappointed, but it somehow feels different if it's not the same person that you gave something awesome to that gives you back something disappointing? I don't know, maybe it's just me :D I think I would be more prone to comparing if it was the same person.

But yeah, that tier idea sounds good! That should prevent any kind of frustration much more effectively :)
