@Hotarla:
I guess. That would make sense.
I only knew this one person in forensics and she was only an acquitance (so I don't know if it's the same for most people) but hers was a desk/lab job.
Intersting in another kind of way.
@Moi:
I would be the silly one opening the purse xD
I don't think they use dental records here though.
In my country it's usually fingerprints. We are required by law to add our fingerprints to the official database, and that's it.

yeah so i suppose it would depend on what kind of job they're going for, whether its a desk/lab job or an on the field job.

That's the understandable thing. If you find a weird scene, it's normal to investigate.
You're not sure exactly what you're looking at, so you check it out and then you realize something bad happened and you call police.
Unfortunately, you've damaged the crime scene.
There's one particular case I want solved that's stuck with me for years.
I don't know if you guys have heard about her - JonBenét Ramsey.
I remember hearing about her case on the radio when I was a kid.
She was two years younger than me and so I felt attached to her death.
We were close in age and there was this little girl murdered so it left a big impact on me.
My dad even told me in recent years that they had said she had numerous bruises on her body.
He said he went and checked me and I had numerous bruises too, but I was a clumsy kid xD
They...just destroyed the crime scene.
People coming in and out of the house, trampling all over the crime scene and destroying evidence.
To this day, her murder is still unsolved.
People thought the parents killed her and thought her brother killed her and the parents covered it up, but they were never charged.
So...no one knows exactly what happened.

its sad to know that some crimes are never solved, their killers walking free and never found. like so many cold cases like that.

Specially when the victim is a child.
It's just so horrendous!

Yeah that’s the worse kind. I mean they’re all bad but kids are just…D:

If they did know who the killer was and it was a family member...I think it was kept quiet.
Her family was rich and they more or less had powerful friends, including the police.
So if it was one of them, I think it was all covered up so no one did time :\
You'd think that would never happen but it does.
There was another case where this woman who was a cop, killed her on and off boyfriend's wife.
When someone reviewing the case started noticing "Hey, this cop seems suspicious >>" she took it to the the other police and they more or less threatened her to stop working on it.
The cops knew a fellow cop did it and they covered it up.
BUT she was eventually found guilty and is doing time 8u
So no matter who you are, you will one day face judgment. Whether you're alive or dead, you will face it eventually.
I have a major soft spot for animals, the elderly, and little kids.
Anyone who hurts or kills them is just the world's biggest coward in my book.

Yeah, it's as you both said.
Hurting someone is always awful, but hurting those who need more protection and depend on others, that's inhuman.

I'm a very docile person who keeps away from people as much as possible.
I don't like violence, but I think sometimes it's acceptable.
Like if I ever saw someone hurting a cat, I'd bash them in the knees with a bat and I wouldn't feel sorry 8u
I remember when I was out sweeping the sidewalk and our old neighbors left their young son outside by himself.
My sister noticed and despite being a kid herself - she said "They left him outside alone! That's dangerous!"
I told her that I was pretty sure his parents were right inside because they looked like they were all getting into the car and leaving.
I also said that they might have seen me outside and trusted me enough to not let their son get kidnapped.
I told my sister that if I ever saw someone kidnapping a kid, I would latch onto them and they'd have a hard time getting away with me hanging onto them because I'm fat xD
