Had not heard about those worms, but it does not surprise me.
I did learn very well as a kid to wash my hands though.
I would wash them after touching an animal, or touching raw meat/fish/produce (I wash them constantly when I'm cooking), going to the bathroom etc, so I guess that kinda solves the hygienical issue for me.
But biting my nails is still a bad habit.
I do not have very bad nails (they are on the shorter side, but not clearly bitten) although I've hurt me more than once biting them.
Having tiny wounds in the hands is extremely annoying, you can bleed (tiny amount) at any time and touch something.

yeah me, i'm constantly washing my hands which is why i have so many handcreams. and even if i don't bite my fingernails, i cut them til there's no white......xD;; because i HATE getting stuff under my nails.

We're lucky I think because people have battled them for like a decade or two.
They sell medicine to kill them but they can always come back at any time.
As a kid, I was told to wash my hands but I didn't think it was that serious xD
As an adult, especially with COVID, I always try to wash my hands and use a sanitizer 8u
After learning about pinworms, I also make sure soap gets under my nails real good.
My nails are flimsy and thin like paper.
I still think it'd mess up my teeth if I bit them xD;

i think my constant nail biting has made my nails "tough as nails"..........XD

I can't use alcoholic sanitizer, cause I have skin eczemas in my hands.
People look at me as if I were plague-ridden

i only use sanitizer when i'm out lol. because its like everywhere. XD

Yeah, it's very convenient, you find it everywhere.
I carry my own soap, just in case, but it's not so convenient.

okay soap.....i probably won't carry around with me lol. hand sanitizer though is a must especially these days.

When my sister was born, she was born with a heart defect.
We had to go out of town to a children's hospital.
I used so much hand sanitizer that it made my hands raw and sore ._.
