Make your own? Are they HP merch wands that are not character ones? Or do you mean just buying a wand that is not official HP merch from maybe a woodworker?

People sometimes make their own wands, like a cosplayer makes their own props :P

and yeah there are some that are just Death Eater styled or such or wands for your birth month etc

Ah, sure, that makes sense. Wands for your birth month sound interesting too though :)

Can you imagine cosplaying as a HPverse wandmaker? That would be so much fun! Not one of the named, known ones, just a young wizard or witch trying to establish their own business in their passion of wandcraft. You could bring materials and actually craft wands right there for other cosplayers.... maybe team up with others and turn finding the right ingredients into a series of quests.

There's a big HP community in Belgium and one of the admins does stuff like that all the time :P

they always have a set-up at conventions with workshops to make your own wands and such.

I think one time he was a see-er like Trelawney and he predicted the future with a crystal ball (for fun) or with tarot (more seriously)

and another time he made a huge Sorting Hat and held sortings :P


I have a wand linked to my birth month, its not my favourite one though. that's a tie between Snape's and Umbridge's

I don't even remember what Umbridges wand looks like, tbh... Do you like it for its design or because of the character?

Uuuh, it definitely is pretty! I think I hate her too much to really want her wand though :D

the sales people were even surprised when I wanted to buy it along with the holder, but damnit I love it so much its so cute! Its really short too haha it fits her so much c':
