Jeez. Your country requires a lot of hoops to jump through. lol.
I might see one around here somewhere. I'll look for it.

*giggle* Yup. Unless you're not from the country, then half the hoops get deleted...
(especially when it comes to housing. We know people that are third generation belgians. Their name is foreign though. They applied for a house with income support (since she was ill and couldn't work) They were granted the opportunity to live there.
The first inspection: 'We thought you were foreign? I'm sorry, but it won't be possible for you to live here then. Immigrants get priority.' (they don't look like immigrants and are fluent in Dutch.)
They're currently still looking for a place to live. It's been 8 months since then...

Kyanite20 - What kind of accessories?
Vineda - How strange. I think that countries should help immigrants and stuff but they should help the people who've always been there too.

I feel so too, but currently a large group of politicians are trying to abolish the care-system and I'm pretty much convinced that this is a way of getting the people to vote for them since they never managed to get a 'majority' before.
I'm guessing they 'helped' the pro-caresystem faction with this (provided certain conditions were met) only to be strategic. Sadly it's working...
(since they're openly against it and people are idiots I fear for the future.
Most people didn't notice that in the same 'statement' of what they stand for, they're against Belgium (as a whole, they want Flanders or a union with the Netherlands) and they're against male-female equality, but that is kept hushhush until you read all the fine letters...

)

Most politicians are just so corrupt. It's gross.
I'm not sure what the care system faction is. Is that kind of like Republicans and Democrats? Like the political parties?
I'm seriously against people who are against male-female equality. Terrible people.

Agreed on the 'against-equality'. It's mostly why they keep that hidden in a HUGE text they call a missionstatement...
As for the factions thing. I meant political parties yes... (sorry for my sleepy English at the moment

)
We have lots of political groups and some of them are pro-caresystem and others want to abolish it
(mostly the ones that are for the 'richer' populace. Sadly they also have a lot of publicity and can really talk well... If I didn't know more about their basic statements I might even be tempted (and I HATE politics so that's really saying something)...

)

We have 2 main ones (Republicans and Democrats) and a few smaller ones that have no chance at winning.
Is the care system health care? Like doctors and stuff like that?
The Republicans are the bad guys in our politics. They want to take away women's rights and LGBT rights and religious freedom and all that stuff.
And the Democrats are mostly okay. Of course there are some bad ones, but it's definitely the lesser evil of the two.

the caresystem is financial support for housing, food, medicine, education, etc...
Ours used to be quite good, but in recent years it's been cut back so much due to the politics behind it that it's become a HUGE burden on the middle and lower class... (which is so inversed to how it should be that it's almost laughable)

Ah. So kind of like our welfare, food stamps and such. Ours are separate. And you can't usually get them unless you have a kid. Which really sucks.
Yeah, if they changed the tax laws here we could easily support all of the poor people. But the super rich only get taxed on so much of their money. I think it's up to like 250,000. I'm not positive. But the rest of their income doesn't get taxed. It's total bull shit.
