My Fred was a very non confrontational betta, so it must have just been that he and the snail were in a small tank, and he decided to be a brat. I'm pretty sure he never pulled its eye stalks, just bit it on the bum. He probably was playing, but the snail didn't like the game.

That is cute. The ending though, when she saw the camera and was like, "MOOOOM! No, you're embarrassing me!" and ran.

Haha it's like Hiro and Zeke =w= Hiro wants to play and will pounce on Zeke, and Zeke will scream out "MOM HE'S TOUCHING ME!!!!" =w=


I'm sooo lucky I got video of that though >A< my pets, cats, shrimp and snails, they all hide when the camera comes out >:x

So they're kind of like their mom, huh, DK?

I been cleaning all day and so even though I been here during my breaks looking for eggies, I only have 37. =w= I bought the pets to help me out. x'D I got lots to clean!

Mm.. I'll try to get you the pic tomorrow. The switch is in my room. I was playing "Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?!" last night =w= I suck at that game. x'D

Yea.. with fish, you gotta make sure you have the proper tank size. For betta fish, most people will tell you anything under 5 gallons isn't good for the betta, 10 gallons are even better. But people manage to keep their betta in 2-3gallon tanks just fine, with proper filtration and water changes.

So many people get told that betta don't need filtration at all because they have a labrinth organ and can breath normal air like us. But they still need proper filtration in the water because they have gills too >A<

The smaller the tank, the more water changes weekly it will need. o3o
Oh and plastic plants are no-nos because they are sharp and can cut fins.

Fred was my second betta, he was the ugliest and palest fish at the pet store. I bought him out of pity and brought him home, where he changed from blech "flesh" pink to a beautiful blue with red fins. I kept him in a one gallon tank, because that was big for what they sold for betta in those days. He hated the currents from the filter, so I just changed his water weekly. He got green medicine in his tank for fin rot, but nothing else ever happened to his fins. He was very laid back and friendly and interactive. He had no interest in fighting. He only looked at his reflection in the mirror and kind of made an insulting gesture at it once, then just swam past and ignored it. He would be wildly joyful when I came home, but never asked for food outside of his scheduled meal time except once, when he saw me eating. I used to fish him out of the tank with my hand to put him in a cat dish sometimes so I could thoroughly clean the tank, and except for once when he tried to jump to see what was going on, he never fussed about being in the dish. He loved looking at faces. I tried giving him a fake plant once, and he hated it-no crawling through the plants like I'd seen other bettas do.

He lived a year longer than the pet books said he would, old and full of years. He was the first and only pet I've ever had that died of old age.
