Concerning the sweet things, you've got nougat, the calissons and the tropézienne. (I don't think there is an english translation for those word (?))

It is not that french doesn't like english that much. It is just that french are bad at speaking english, haha xD

In my view, Stromae is a little like Psy. Its an foreign language that not to many people speak, but the music is catchy :)

I agree that few radio stations have a very high pourcentage of french things (something like 100%... they are kinda specialized :p) but thinking that 70% or more of the musics on all stations are french... this sounds very surprising ! Oo
But, if you want to focus on french-speaking singer, I guess you can try Mylène Farmer, Maître Gims, Shaka Ponk, Zaz... all depends which sort of music you are looking for. How is your character's personality ?
