Unfortunately not, she needs to follow these rules:

No, I just meant, "you just need to etc..." in order to take off the white pixels with photoshop, not to finish the knuffel ^^

I'm not an artist by any means. It's not that I wasn't following the rules, I just don't have the knowledge or skills to do really cool stuff with paper and markers. I gave it a shot.....it didn't work and that is okay with me. At least I tried in the first place.

Thanks again for your help, kindness, and encouragement. But I think I'll just stick with making banners. :qcute:

That's not true. I actually thought it was quite a neat idea! All you need is to add more visible changes to the Knuffel. I know that making Knuffel on paper is actually more difficult than making it on computer, because you cannot just draw over stuff so easily like you can on a computer and it makes changing things more difficult, but it is still possible. Your Knuffel has lots of potential, and you could add changes to the hair for example, that is always a good way to make visible changes. Not changing the hairstyle completely like you did in stage 1-2, but gradually changing it, like starting with one bun, than adding another, make them bigger, etc. There is also always the possibility to add animal parts, ears, tails, wings, though I don't think that goes well with the concept of your Knuffel, but you could add other things like for example a coat, scars, etc...

hehe thank you Her Ugliness! That means a lot to hear that. It's just gonna be a lot of work since I draw each stage separately, scan it, size it, get the background transparent, and upload it. So it takes me a lot of time to make them.....to redo it, that would take a long time too if not longer cuz I'd have to redraw them all again.

I LOVE to draw....so maybe I'll try again and just show it here first and ask for tips before I submit it. If I can do that. Cuz I have 2 more, one is done but still working on the other one. *shrugs* hehe I'll try.....again.

Ravaen, what you mainly need is not skills, but imagination :) I admire people who do traditional art knuffel anyway, I wouldn't have patience for it.

Since the traditional art knuffel are harder to work on, I'd recommend you making simple sketch drawings of all stages and then ask for opinions. that way you'll know if they need fixing before using something permanent like markers.

hehe thank you. I wish I knew how to use my Photoshop but it's SO confusing! Plus I like to draw with paper and pencil/pen. I find it relaxing. But I'll have to do what you said....posting it before I color it in. Or I could just copy it and color one of them then post it so you can see what it would look like.

SO many options! haha

I also think Photoshop is incredibly confusing and hard to figure out, but maybe there are other, simpler, programs you might want to try out.
Personally I have never used it, but I know a lot of people use for example SAI, which you can download for free here: http://sai.detstwo.com/sai/
Maybe it is worth looking into it.
Though I also understand the advantages of drawing on paper , though for the special purpose of Knuffel´, and especially the changes, it is really more difficult.

Is your scanner also a printer? What you could do if it is both is scan each stage as you finish drawing it without putting in the color yet, print out each scan and then color in the areas with what color you want as long as it stays consistent throughout the design. That's what I would have done if I didn't use GIMP and wanted to make a knuffel. Though I suggest using something like a B6 pencil if you have one for the final lines on each stage, it will come up easier on the scanner, or if you can fiddle with the contrast settings on the scanner when you preview the scan or after you scan the image and view it in like windows photo-gallery or paint (at least I think paint can do that).

Along with what Firn said, you can try GIMP or Artweaver, both also being free. And if you have questions about GIMP you can always ask me. :mcwink: (for my next knuffel I'm doing the lines and bases in GIMP, but I'm going to color it using Artweaver).

@ Her Ugliness

(I feel awkward putting 'Ugliness'. :qf: )

Oh thank you! I've heard of SAI but didn't know it was free. I'll have a look at it as soon as I can. I hope it is easier. I'm looking into getting a tablet but there
are so many brands that I'm not sure what is the best one to get. Plus I don't
have the money to get one at the moment. hehe

I don't mind it being more difficult to make the Knuffels on paper....it's just I do
put a lot of thought and effort into them and to have the rejected just....ugh. Hard to explain. haha I just need to learn more about...or see examples of a proper evolving Knuffel so I can see what I need to do to improve mine. :qcute:

@ ml1201

Yes it's a printer/scanner/fax machine. But that's a really good idea! Sweet! They are free! I like free stuff. haha

A B6 Pencil. Got it. I've been using a click pencil. haha

I think in the end if I fail on the third attempt I may see if anyone wants to take my ideas and just use them. I really wouldn't mind. haha As long as I can draw....I'm all for it. (unless that isn't allowed)
