Hmm, I can't wait until July to do the Nanowrimo. Currently I'm running six OCs in RPs, but that's not the same as writing stories... I would like to write stories.

Oh yeah, I forgot that there was one then. I think I need to practice writing shorts before I can even get to the whole Nano thing. XD

I prefer RPing to writing stories by myself, but I've always been more of an RPer than a writer. The only reason I even seriously got into writing was because one of my partners encouraged me to start. XD; Everything was always so incredibly short, though.

@Zia: It's only against the rules if the materials were meant for Nano, isn't it? Surely there's nothing wrong with practicing writing in general...I haven't been able to finish anything in a long time.

Lol, I tend to develop my side characters before the RP, so it's generally my main ones that end up surprising me.

Nanowrimo is for yourself, it's not like they publish winners, it's your own goal really. I finished last year and I got a pixel prize. The manuscript was crap. I pretty much plan to re-write it this July- I probably won't be able to do this November, with all my classes, one will be creative writing. *shrug* There'll be a lot of writing. I'm kind of dreading it, because school tends to damper my spirit. I think you can outline and plan prior to Nanowrimo, just not actually writing the story itself, but some people continuously work on their projects.

I was a writer before I role played. The first time I encountered role playing was through a writing group. I was a kid and my characters were super immature... Pretty average for my age I think.

It's fun to RP characters! It's not as intense and flat as writing a story. I mean it's a lot more dynamic, there's an instant audience. I like writing to amuse people and play out pranks and cruelty against my characters. Right now I'm setting up an RP so that crushes-they become lovers storywise- are like accidently avoiding eachother with help of a troublemaker. I had a cross dresser in one, along with a brat who gave the cross-dresser quite a shock. I get so into it, I'm sometimes disappointed about how other people play their characters so ... cardboardish... Mine are like... alive to me when I'm playing them... I wonder if I'm messed up in the head when I see people playing these one trait characters. :s

I don't mind people having powerful characters... it's how they write them that bothers me... it seems so... I don't know how to explain it. I've been playing humans recently, they're super underpowered compared to everyone else. I have one elf, but that's it.
