Huh. From my experience, most antagonists aren't given much rhyme or reason for being the way they are, but the ones that do have the excuse to be evil because they got butthurt by something in the past. XD; I guess it's not too bad, if it's written up properly, but that's rarely the case.

I don't know --I generally don't read fictions with shippings like that, except that I'm going through an e-zine of original slash fiction right now and it's come up a few times. I'd like to clarify that I care neither for the "nobody" nor the "awesomeness," so at least the two stereotypes deserve each other in a sense (which is the way I feel about Tidus and Yuna in Final Fantasy X, but that's another story...)

Still, I guess people like the idea of how opposites attract --heck, I like it myself, but not so much if that's, like, the whole make of the character. Also, I have a sort of dislike for the "pity me" people --I don't understand how a well-rounded guy could ever like someone who's scarcely capable of standing on their own two feet... --No... no, I take it back. I do have some OCs who don't mind the pathetic types, but I guess you could say they have a sort of hero complex. XD; Plus there's gotta be more to the other party than being a loser. No one likes someone who's just a total downer; it's too depressing. And irksome. <--gets annoyed when people complain too much about silly things.

Uh, I know there was one in the last Star Trek movie... Starwars too, come to think about it (the whole Darth Vader business), which is funny, because I don't even like the space genre, generally. And the bear in Toy Story 3... and there are probably many others, but I'm too sleepy to think of them.

I found another nobody and somebody fic again. Man, it makes me want to drop this zine like a rock, but then I recall the fics I actually like from it (aha, "Curse of Venus" was very amusing), and I have to be understanding and remember that all sorts of writers are in this.

Ooh, iced coffee. I'm mostly waiting for the baby. And wanting sleep.
