Lol, my first phone talk! I got mine when I was..... uuuuuhhh wait... 13? Maybe Or 12? I'm not sure... But I only got it because my older sister got her first phone that age. And she only got it because she was going to some butthole place and mom wanted to be able to contact her. Otherwise she wouldn't have gotten it.

And lol, we've all played the snake game XD I was addicted... But I get addicted easily in general xD

Snake was like, the highlight of being that age XD Everyone would play it and talk about it. It's crazy to think about phones now and the kind of games kids can get XD

actually i didnt liked snake..'-'
i was always, and still am a Tetris lover..
So gameeeboooy!*-*

But as fo the phone, thats a funny thing..
1.the age when children get it doesnt differ too much..at least not in that age back then XD
2. i just say "mobile" and this is what comes out XDD

i think, with 12 he is old enough but not for a smartphone.
I want gim to notice and to learn what mobiles actually are for.
He shall not play around or getting too addicted to notice even a car almost hitting him. I just want him to be available if i start to worry, when he is on tour..No internet of course XD

shopping with grandma(she never hears her phone ringing man XD)
if he goes to the kiosk or a supermarket nearby, and takes too long..
and he can call me to ask if he needs to buy something special or if he can buy something along the way.
since we have the same contract company then,i can call and write to him for free, as he can do the same to me.
in 2-3 years,of course, if he has proofen himself,he will get a smartphone too..but i keep control over the internet << XD

also with this...back then it was totally common if you had a PREPAID card, that you could put your account into minus..
i hated it,they said this wouldnt happen but it always happened.
since nowadays they reduce the amounts once per hour or faster, they also have a "lock" so that you cant come into minus. I really like this.
My phone bill was soooo high back then, even prepaid, that wasnt fun anymore..
since its easier to controll now i think he has a good chance of never writing too much XD Since also a sms in a different company net only takes 9cent XD

Of course i think when you get your first phone,it always depends on the circumstances. I have seen in kindergarten, when my son was 3. 4 your old children with smartphones .And the worst thing was- > it were their own!
only playing and screaming if you took it away.. also in normal ways i think under 10 a phone is a killer.in many ways..
But if you really need to go so far by bus, ect, then of course its something different..As long as you use your phone only for this.

I guess i will try it like this:
first weeks only hand it over, when he leaves the house, alone or with someone..
so that he learns to make calls and such,we will train before, since its for free XDD if i have the feeling he isnt "abusing" in in any kind of way, he can have it for a few days in row and so on.
i know how much he plays with his N 3DS..i am loading it every second day XDD

Eek I was so mad recently.
There was this lady asking the salesman for what a good gift would be for a 7 year old and he kept suggesting tablets and other electronics. :mcsweat:

honestly?
my child would have gotten a plushdoll or a game we can play together..XD
or ,honestly,Arthur (my son) LIKES getting new paper and pencils,i swear XD
THATS what you buy a 7 year old god damn! or a nice childrens book for reading beginners..They're sooo many things to get but this guy ...gnargh

We learn:
NEVER ask a SALESMAN about children.
ASK A MOTHER!
they knows best ><

@Bon, I really love your approach to teaching your boy how to cell phone, lol XD I really do :qh:

And I can't believe I totally forgot about tetris XD

@Haze: Ohmygosh, let's go hunt him down and hurt him >n< People are clueless, he apparently wasn't a parent himself and nowhere near planning a family. 7-yr-olds don't need things like that, they need to be inspiried by simple toys to play with them and develop their imagination and personality :qd:

XD thanks
well i still believe in my child,as you know XD
there is still hope! he can do iiiiit XD
he will be a good little bear some day.äh a strong, big bear XD lol
I believe that the small things are as important as the big things you learn.
One way or another it will be essential for building your character.
I want him to learn such things,so that he dont become like his "father"..
I want him to teach what responsibillity is and that you need it for many things.
He is really happy that i just ordered his phone (shall be delivered about tuesday or wednesday*-*),that he got the modell he wanted, that he got to choose the color also we will buy the mobile sim card together on friday.
He is excited, happy and curious.I think its a good training for him also for learning how to speak up if he really wants something.

Its sooo cute when he looks at you saying he is happy.

Honestly my son loves drawing.Writing and reading not so much but he does both without a drama now XD took me some years to this point lol
Ther eis nothing more fascinating then seeing a child being happy about small things.
once i gave him a ballpoint pencil..
Nothing specialhe just wanted one and didnt had anything to draw. I told him "take this",when he wanted to return i said "Keep it" and he thanked me 5 times XDDD
